At Kidsfirst Kindergartens Portsmouth Street, we pride ourselves on our diverse and inclusive community. Venturing outside, our kindergarten boasts an enormous, leafy backyard adorned with a beautiful mural. This outdoor space is ideal for curious learners and imaginative play. With a variety of challenging climbing and physical play equipment, children are invited to actively explore their surroundings. Grass and barked areas, along with specially designed equipment, support their physical growth and development. Our outdoor space also offers peaceful spots to connect with nature and gain a deeper understanding of the natural world.

We are proud to offer a programme for children aged 2-5 years that fosters a strong sense of belonging and environmental stewardship. Through encouraging Manaakitanga (caring for each other) and Kaitiakitanga (caring for our environment), we instill important values in our tamariki. When you visit our kindergarten, you'll immediately notice the engagement and calmness in the air. Our children take responsibility for their actions and show kindness and thoughtfulness towards their friends.

As an integral part of our community, we actively participate in various events and initiatives. One such event is Affirm, a big community day organized by ACTIS in December. We cherish our connections with whānau/families and embrace the multiculturalism and diversity of our community. We welcome whānau to share their skills, experiences, languages, and cultures, enriching our programme and creating a sense of unity.

Giving back to our families is a core value for us. We pay forward donations of food, vegetables, bread, clothing, bedding, and toys to support those in need. Our community group-donated freezer is always stocked with food to provide assistance whenever required.

For optimal learning and consistency, we recommend enrolling your child for at least two full days initially, gradually increasing to five days at their own pace. This approach allows our teachers to build a strong rapport with your child and provide consistent support for their educational journey.
