Inside, our well-resourced facilities provide endless opportunities for children to try new things and develop their independence.

Outside, our beautiful backyard offers ample space for children to challenge themselves, explore, and enhance their physical skills. With moveable equipment and specially designed areas, our children can set their own challenges and enjoy the natural surroundings, including lush green grass and gardens. Our big trees provide shelter in all weather conditions, allowing children to enjoy the outdoors year-round.

Our qualified and experienced teaching team at Kidsfirst Sunbeam are passionate about igniting a love for learning in children. By recognizing and responding to each child's individual interests, we create a program based on exploration, inquiry, creativity, and nature-based education. We believe in providing uninterrupted time and space for children and their families to learn and grow.

We value strong relationships with parents, family, and whānau (extended family) at Sunbeam. Through open communication and face-to-face conversations, we ensure that your child's learning journey is supported. We encourage whānau to share their skills, knowledge, language, and culture with us, enriching our program and creating a sense of belonging for all.

As an active member of our community, we regularly venture out to connect with the wider community and help our tamariki (children) make sense of their place in the world. We even have a sister-city relationship with Asahi Kindergarten in Kurashiki! Additionally, we have strong links with local primary schools to support a smooth transition to school for your child.

To ensure a consistent learning experience, we recommend enrolling your child for at least two full days, gradually building up to five days at their own pace. This allows our teachers to get to know your child better and provide tailored support for their learning.
