Welcome to Kidsfirst Kindergartens Parklands! Located in a quiet cul-de-sac right next door to Parkview Primary School in Christchurch, New Zealand, our establishment is a point of interest and a school that offers a unique learning environment for children aged 2 to school age.

At Kidsfirst Kindergartens Parklands, our dedicated teachers, or Ngā kaiako, are responsive to the interests, strengths, and capabilities of every child. We believe that children are confident, capable, and able to contribute to our program, which is guided by tikanga principles of caring and respect for others (Manaakitanga), family, relationships, history, and traditions (Whanaungatanga), and looking after the world around us (Kaitiakitanga).

Our kindergarten has a homelike feel, providing children with access to a wide range of carefully selected resources that encourage thinking and exploration. We value and support the mana, wairua, and mauri that children and their families bring to us. In our environment, children are encouraged to be curious about the world around them and to develop a respectful relationship with the environment as they play and learn.

One of the highlights of our kindergarten is our beautiful, big backyard, which serves as a natural space for children to try new things, be curious, and express their creativity. With plenty of room to run, explore, and use real tools, our backyard offers opportunities for children to grow muscles, build skills, and challenge themselves through swinging, climbing, digging, and more.

We also have a close partnership with Parkview School, ensuring a smooth transition to school for both you and your child. This includes regular visits to the school and from new entrant teachers to the kindergarten.

At Kidsfirst Kindergartens Parklands, community and connectedness are at the heart of what we do. We warmly welcome parents and whānau to join us, contributing their knowledge and strengths to enrich our program. Whether it's attending a social event, having lunch with your child, helping out with small tasks, or joining us for a walk, your involvement is always appreciated and is a great way to get to know people in our community.

We recommend enrolling your child for at least two full days initially, gradually building up to five days at their own pace. This allows us time to get to know each other and ensures consistency in supporting learning and building relationships.
