Situated on Avonhead Road, our preschool has been converted from a family home, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all children and their families. With minimal fixtures, we have designed our preschool to be easily transformed into educational and play spaces that best encourage your child's growth and development.
One of our standout features is our outdoor verandas. Unlike other kindergartens in Christchurch, our verandas can be enclosed, allowing us to be outside and adapt to all weather conditions. This means that rain or shine, our children can enjoy the benefits of outdoor play and exploration.
At Avonhead preschool, we understand the importance of forming strong communication and relationship skills from an early age. That's why we have our beloved pet guinea pigs, Genie and Smile, who help teach our children the fundamentals of caring and compassion. By forming a bond with these pets, our students gain a unique understanding of responsibility and fostering, which cannot be taught inside a traditional classroom.
We also believe in the power of community and encourage our children to engage with the wider community. Our regular excursions include visits to Avonhead primary school and the local retirement home, where our students can interact with people outside of their peers. "We love Annabel's so much! Our son has settled in so well thanks to the amazing educators and welcoming environment, which has helped us to know that he is so comfortable and loves being there. Nothing is ever an issue and they are always happy to work alongside us to make sure our son's needs are met. We love that there are three rooms, yet the kids have the opportunity to explore the entire centre at times and to interact with children and educators from other rooms. The outdoor areas are great and give the children so many opportunities to explore. I would 100% recommend Annabel's to anybody looking for an amazing, warm and caring centre!"
