"Ordered 8 lanterns October mid for the wedding. Almost a month after, still waiting for those lanterns. Very frustrating. This was the first time I bought from this shop and possibly could be the last one. I followed up on it several times and all the staff say is that they will follow up. Worst case scenario they say is I would need to cancel the order and get a refund. Like, seriously you are gonna say to your customer to cancel instead after waiting for almost a month. Do you guys really think it is easy to just change plans especially for an event like wedding? Unbelievable!"
"Terrible horrible hopeless service. Furnitures are stylish and good quality, nothing wrong with it. I went to the shop and placed the order in late April, couch was delivered in three weeks but 8 weeks later I’m still waiting for my stools. When I purchased, Karen told me everything will be delivered to my address at one go. It ended up I went to pick up my lamp (arrived at the shop around week 5?). When I chased up with stools I was told it’s on hold or on the way and will be delivered. Now I received a text asking me to pick up items by myself. Seriously? Felt sorry for the young girl who sounds like a trainee and is probably the only one bothers to pick up calls. Moreover, I then requested refund which they couldn’t do immediately over the phone. Instead, what I was told is someone from the sales team will call me ASAP. When you took the money, it was impressively quick. If you’re not into providing good services just tell customers the truth. No wasting time please."
"Unfortunately, the bookshelf we ordered and paid for in October has been endlessly delayed. The last promise was it would arrive by late April. It's not here, and they're no longer responding to my emails."
"If I could leave ZERO stars I would. Do not EVER purchase from early settler. We have had nothing but problem after problem with our two orders of large, expensive items, including one of the items being sent back due to very poor quality, the replacement item, not much better. Received a dining table with bolts that didnt fit, incorrect colour chairs delivered, and was accused of receiving all our items when we had not. Absolutely disgusting service and products not to mention the delays - our furniture was supposed to be ready in Early November, today we have picked up our final piece and will never be stepping foot in their store ever again. Do yourself a favour and steer clear of early settler furniture."
"I would NOT encourage anyone to purchase items from the Canberra Outlet Centre store. My partner and I ordered furniture from one of their most popular ranges earlier this year. After waiting months for the stock to arrive and paying for pick-up/delivery, the table we ordered was severely damaged, the chairs were not part of the set and were also damaged. It took 2 months for me to get in contact with the store Manager, who didn’t believe us originally and questioned why we couldn’t just ‘pick up and drop off furniture ourselves’ (I had to send proof of my receipts) and she also called me ‘sweetie’ several times on the phone... and for her to re-order us the correct furniture and organise pick and delivery themselves. After waiting months for the correct/replacement furniture to arrive we quickly noticed that ALL legs and ALL the backs of ALL 4 chairs were extremely scratched/damaged. I went into the store to discuss this and was told by a staff member that she would take notes and get the manager to contact me and confirmed it would be best to speak to the manager before calling customer service. I tried calling when she didn’t contact me and was told by a different staff member there was no notes/information and the manager would contact me. I emailed photos of the furniture and followed up with 3 calls when the manager still hadn’t contacted me weeks later. I called a final time and while speaking to a staff member on the phone, I could hear the manager in the background talking about me/the order but the staff member said she was busy and couldn’t talk to me. I contacted customer service straight after and was greeted by a lovely lady named Jess who was shocked by the service we had received and offered to help replace the damaged furniture and assured me I didn’t have to keep communicating with the Canberra store. People pay good money for furniture and it should be an exciting process as you are building a home! The service we received was extremely concerning, the staff were rude, condescending and unhelpful – who knows why they have chosen a career in retail."
