"On admittance the afternoon and night staff were absolutely lovely. As was the surgeon, Dr Byrne. If it that was my whole experience, I would have given 5 stars. However the morning staff was a complete different kettle of fish, one nurse in particular was incredibly rude, arrogant, hostile and unhelpful. Bordering on spiteful. It’s a hospital not a prison, I don’t need to be treated like a criminal. Didn’t bother to ask how I was feeling, or if I needed anything. The ward was quiet and they are hardly run off their feet. With an attitude like that she should maybe reconsider whether she is suited to a nursing career."
"I came into the hospital for a full knee replacement . In a time where all we here about hospitals is negative .My stay here has been out standing from the cleaners to the nurses and doctors has been a has been outstanding and I could not recommend this hospital enough"
"My wife (Toni) was recently in SCUPH, (2nd time in5 years). Overall, the service by medical staff & non medical personnel was very good. The quality of the meals though was pathetic. One of the reasons for this was no doubt due to the time/distance from the kitchen to the patient, but mainly the meals were NOT typically the home cooked meals we'd all like. They were often highly imaginative creations which few get to taste regularly and by the time the patient received them, they had dried and spoiled. We are advising our health fun we are not getting what we pay for or expect."
"Very happy after my stay here. Wonderful friendly staff from reception through to the nursing and catering staff. Couldn't believe how good the food was too and I'm picky! Lovely clean facility. Top marks from me."
"A nurse caused my grandfather to fall over as he was leaving the bathroom. The nurse did not report the incident and said everything was fine. I understand this may not be just relevant to this hospital but it may be a culture there. Don't 100% trust your loved ones will be looked after."
