"Budget Direct put my premium up considerably when I added my L-plater son to the car insurance policy, but when he had a minor accident they also added 'additional excess' charges. I now have to pay $2100 excess, on a 'comprehensive' insurance policy! Probably more than it will cost to fix the minor damage to the other car!"
"one of the poorestttttttttttttttttttt, worsttttttt, terribbleeeee car insurance company I have dealt with ....if I had an option to give negative star would have done so.....Wont use their services even if its for free.... took my car away for month to perform assesment couldn't get it repaired now taking agesssssss to return it and when I requested them to extend the hire car duration they refused. Also, the phone waiting duration is just hectic usually more than 1hours long waiting duration. Wont recommend to anyone !!!!!!!!!!"
"Poor customer experience. Unreasonable insurance claim process. It’s better off paying few for a efficient services. One claim would take months without proper notice. Not really worth insuring with this company, but only if you want to waste your time and resources."
"1 star is too many. They increased the cost of my home insurance policy 74.5%. I waited 40 minutes on hold to talk to them about why, or if there was a mistake, after our conversation they found a "mistake", and increased my policy by a further $15/month. I cancelled my policy and have taken out insurance with a competitor at a lower cost than my original policy, with a lower excess and higher insured amount. Don't get sucked in!"
"Really poor customer service soon as you need anything. I just needed to cancel my policy after I sold my car and you can’t cancel your policy online and there is no email address and you just sit on hold forever if you press the cancellation option when you call. After sitting on hold endless times and having to hang up because I was at work I ended up having to call the sales line and get them to get someone to call me back which was all very time-consuming and frustrating. So it ended up taking me two weeks to get the policy cancelled while they kept taking money out of my account. Ridiculous customer service and technological support for 2023!!"
