"It is quiet. No music. Quite a few people there on Wednesday morning. Great value for money."
"Crossway Cafe Review 21/12/2020 My friends and I reserved a table for 6, and pre-ordered last week 3 Singapore-style fried Hokkien prawn mee and Mee Siam. The Hokkien Mee is nothing like the KL style, that thickened with dark sauce. In fact I thought it was soup base noodle dish. The stock, possibly made out of prawn shell and pork bones, is very tasty. It has a couple of prawns, squid rings, slices of fish cake (?), on Hokkien noodle and rice vermicelli. It also serves with a piece of lime. The Mee Siam is distinctly different from what I am familiar with in terms of taste and texture. It has prawns, a hard boiled egg cut in halves and a couple of pieces tofu puff. I cannot detect the taste of tamarind in the soup. It also comes with a sliced segment of lime, for those like the soup to be a little tangy in taste. It serves with sambal which does look scarily hot. __________________________________________ On Tuesday afternoon, the Cafe serves a selected Malaysian style hawker food, in addition to other usual soup, hot food, quick meal, and snacks. During Melbourne lockdown, we ordered Katong Laksa to takeaway, and introduced some friends to try this signature dish, the verdict was a thumbs-up. My wife reckons the Katong Laksa even taste better than what she has eaten in Singapore."
