"Great food & lovely young staff. Didn't see any of the issues mentioned in previous reviews...all over, a great night out. A bottle shop nearby, which is great as it's BYO"
"Ordered Singapore noodles and Black pepper beef as take away. Based on my experience I wouldn't recommend this place for the following reasons nor will I return here. 1. The noodles were bland and tasteless. No flavour in the noodles nor the chicken and prawns in the dish. Dish was oily. 2. Black pepper beef had a mild taste. Not mind blowing 3. Quantity was on the lesser side for the price charged 4. After taste was very bad. I had to have a glass of peppermint tea to wash the taste"
"From Sydney city. 6 of us Stayed in Avoca beach to attend a wedding. Got recommendations to try Malay from a nice man in lovely wine store. The wine man said food was good & that he’s fussy eater. We trusted his feedback Plus It’s only restaurant in that area apart from pizza. but Food was nothing special. Some dishes were salty. It was terrible. We asked staff at the start if it was ok to pay split bill. She said it was fine. To make matters worse. When we went to pay the bill the owner came & stood next to person at counter. He intervene he said no split bills. He got loud & repetitively explaining why he couldn’t do it. He said theres always money owing that someone didn’t pay for a dish. We said we are paying what we ate each. It’s a normal thing. He didn’t accept. In the end we stood our grounds and paid the split bill. It ended up in an argument between us. I could not understand his reasoning. So so unprofessional coming from an owner. Such a bad experience."
"Food was excellent especially the sweet and sour pork. The only downside was that the owner Richard is always yelling at his staff and using profound language towards them. Although the food is great I really don't recommend coming here specially if you hate the sound of yelling which you will most definitely hear. I cant stress this enough owners need to respect their staff specially when they are young kids and learning."
"Delicious Malaysian food We visited this restaurant on the recommendation of our apartment host and had a terrific meal. We ordered the curry leaves king prawns and the curried fish - and both were surprisingly delicious. The portions were very generous and the prices were very reasonable."
