"Like several others recently we had an excellent showroom experience followed by very poor customer service once contracts were executed. We engaged Nobbys to replace two kitchens in two self-contained apartments attached to our heritage home in Wahroonga. Approx $50,000 excluding flooring, painting and tiling. Had we not paid in advance we would have cancelled and walked away. Bespoke cabinetry, turnkey management of the process and professional service was all lacking from the outset. Appliances purchased through the Pymble store were not delivered and I personally had to chase up the couriers who had been engaged by Nobbys several times over many weeks due to delays and missing components. Inconsistent and badly managed – the only things that turned up on time were appliances we ordered independently through Appliances Online. Nobbys don’t make the cabinetry – they design and (theoretically) project manage external subcontractors to install the manufactured product so when components were delivered that were the wrong size, we had further delays. A significant amount of rubbish was left onsite for several weeks including packaging, broken tiles, cement, cabinetry, etc. They didn’t even bother with a final inspection – just a phone call to ask me if everything had been completed. Found the entire process unsatisfactory from a business claiming to offer bespoke product that sits above budget kitchen installers and Bunnings Kaboodle type product."
"We paid premium amount for a kitchen reno ... We were promised 6 weeks it took them 5 months. They blamed anyone and everyone. The finishing was no better than a cheaper counterpart. There is no follow up and no one bothers to get back to you when to try and contact them. Have left several messages. We got Taj Mahal stone and they messed it up. The taps becoming loose. The draws don't close properly. Doors safe sagging."
"We had a functional and elegant Nobby kitchen installed in our unit over a year ago. Then, recently, the mixer tap started dripping. Nobby looked after the warranty, no ifs or buts, all summed up in Nobby's Doron Bobrow's email to the supplier: "Customer has issue with tap. Please urgently contact her." The tap was soon fixed (replaced). Well done Nobby, thanks Doron."
"EDITED: after posting the review below Nobbys contacted us and resolved the last issue. The service on this call out was great, CJ (plumber) very nice and fixed it in about 30 mins. TLDR: Quality of the kitchen is good but would NOT recommend this company based on poor communication, delays and slowness to respond to issues. We had a kitchen designed and installed by Nobby's so this review is based on first hand experience (Feb-May 2023). Before we signed the contract with Nobby's we looked around at a few other companies and found their prices to be about mid-range. We initialy had great customer service (Sally at Pymble showroom was very friendly and helpful) & felt confident Nobby's would manage the project well and it was worth paying a bit more. However, after paying our initial deposit everything went downhill. Our job was relatively small (just under 20k). We certainly got the vibe that because we weren't doing a major expensive overhaul we weren't a priority for the people we were dealing with. We had multiple delays and cancellations by the project manager (Paul) who was to check measure the kitchen (his first excuse for cancelling was that he didn't realise how far away our location was from the Northern Beaches, which he told us about 10 minutes before he was supposed to arrive). After the plans were made we checked them very carefully and found errors in the measurements, which WE had to flag. After some back and forth the plans were confirmed and approved and we paid the final deposit. We had already been told it would be around 6-8 weeks for manufacturing so were prepared for this wait. However, after not hearing from Nobby's to confirm an installation date we called and were told that the order had not been put through, even though we had paid weeks ago. Another delay. Communication wasn't great throughout the process and important information that really should have been verbally told to us (rather than hidden deep in a contract) should have been flagged. For example, we opted for a stone benchtop, which had been recommended in the showroom and we liked the aesthetic. What we were NOT told was that adding a benchtop adds another 10 days to the installation time because installers come separate to the cabinetry. Of course, if that's the process then fine but we really should have been informed. We thought that we would at least have functional benches after cabinetry installation. In fact the kitchen was unusable in any form for an additional 2 weeks. It was also annoying that this was not flagged with us as it required someone to be home on 2 separate occassions for installation. Yet more changing of our work schedules. Installation of the cabinetry was good. Juan was super friendly, professional and experienced. Upon installation it became apparent there was another measurement mistake and one of the cabinet doors did not fit. So another installer had to come back again later to fix that issue (another change to our work schedules to accomodate that). Finally, the BIGGEST complaint we have, which is still outstanding, is that the dishwasher we bought does not fit due to ta cabinetry error. The dishwasher protrudes from the cabinets by about 3.5 centimetres and it looks weird. We pre-purchased the dishwasher and Nobby's had all the specs and assured us that it would be no problem to integrate. What happened was the cabinetry included a wooden brace that was apparently supposed to be removed prior to installing the dishwasher. Nobby's claim this is the plumber responsibility. Our plumber claims that they do not mess with cabinetry. Looking at both sides we have come down firmly that Nobby's was responsible to AT LEAST tell us about this issue so we could make sure the plumber was aware. We never got this information and it taints the whole kitchen. Nobby's has since said they would send a cabinet person out to take a look and fix the initial error but then ghosted us. Overall quality of the kitchen is good. We would have been very happy if not for all the delays, stuff up and slow response."
"Everything to do with our kitchen renovation with Nobby’s was incredible. From first consultation in the showroom, to booking in a design appointment at our house, Nobby stopped at nothing to give us our dream kitchen. We had a fairly good idea of what we wanted, but we got great advice as well on what would and wouldn’t work with the space. Matt Eve (designer) and Amanda Jerogin in the showroom walked us through every step. Once booked in, we were given a full trade schedule and strata pack, which made approvals were seamless. We were given contact details and names for all trades people, who were proactive in discussing details with us, and highly skilled and professional. The project was flawlessly (Derrick) managed and exceeded our expectations. Unlike some other companies we looked at, Nobby quotes for trades as well. These were accurate, and it meant that there were no unexpected costs. Any supply issues (I think only one) was addressed with us, we were advised of early, and it was sorted out immediately - thus not impacting the project at all. Despite this being out of their control, Nobby made it a priority for our kitchen to turn out as promised. Can not recommend more highly, and will recommend Nobby to anyone."
