About the Business
Welcome to The Wayzgoose Diner, located in the beautiful Blue Mountains town of Leura. Nestled in the historic Leura Mall, our diner is the ultimate destination for mouthwatering comfort food and a warm, inviting atmosphere.
At The Wayzgoose Diner, we take pride in creating delicious meals from scratch using locally sourced, fresh ingredients. We even get our meat from the local Butcher next door! Whether you're a Blue Mountains local or just passing through, our menu is sure to have something that will tantalize your taste buds and leave you feeling satisfied.
From juicy burgers to crispy frickles and delectable sweets, we have a wide variety of options to choose from. We believe that life is too short to eat salad, so we focus on serving up hearty, flavorful dishes that will leave you craving more.
The name "Wayzgoose" holds a special significance for us. In the past, a wayzgoose was an annual celebration for printers, marking the end of summer and the start of working by candlelight. Our diner is housed in the oldest commercial building in Leura, which was once a printing press. We decided to pay homage to the building's history by combining it with our love for food, giving rise to The Wayzgoose Diner.
We pride ourselves on being a family-friendly establishment. With a dedicated kid's menu, a little library, and chalkboard tables, we welcome kids of all ages. We even have a sunny courtyard at the back and outdoor seating at the front, perfect for enjoying a meal with your furry friends.
One of our most famous offerings is our Flowerpot scones. People come from far and wide to taste these light and fluffy treats, served with delicious berry jam and fresh whipped cream. Once you've had a bite, you'll understand why they're so popular!
So why wait? Come and visit The Wayzgoose Diner today. We can't wait to welcome you and provide you with a memorable dining experience in the heart of Leura.

"I am a tour guide for international tourists and I often take my groups there for coffee. Excellent coffee and a friendly and cozy atmosphere. Must go to the place when visiting Leura."
"Edit in response to the owners reply: Obviously you don’t buy your ingredients at Woolworths, but in order to provide your customers with the products they drive hours for, sometimes you have to think out of the box and do what you have to do as a one off. As for your staff being miserable, yes they were. As for being busy, the place was empty when we arrived. As for us giving them a hard time, we are a very polite family and yes, on the day when they told us they didn’t have the scones, I was quite taken aback and questioned them, but that does not explain their demeanour when we first walked. The next day, the service was just as bad and they certainly did not mirror anyone’s positivity as I watched their interactions with other polite customers to see if it was just us, but alas it wasn’t, they treat all customers just as bad. Original post: We arrived at 9:15 on Monday morning to be told that they had run out of flowerpot scones. This is the only thing we came here for. I questioned how they could have run out first thing in the morning and was told they had run out of flour. I’m sorry, but this place is known for its flowerpot scones. Pop next door to Woolworths which had been open for over 2 hours, grab some flour and cook some scones. We travelled 2 hours to the Blue Mountains and one of the main things we came for were these scones. Luckily, we were staying the night, so we were able to get some the next day. The scones themselves are delicious as always, but they are no longer served in the terracotta flower pots, which is disappointing. As for the service, there is none. There is no greeting when you enter and there are no smiling faces. There are simply miserable people doing their job at the most basic level. They need reminding that this is a customer service industry. When we were told there were no scones, there was apology and no attempt to make the situation better. We felt like we were inconveniencing them by asking for them. When we returned, the service was no better. When we finished and we’re leaving, we walked past 2 staff members who did not even acknowledge we were there. How about a “thank you” or “have a good day” or “how was everything?” We have been coming here for years and have recommended so many people to come and try the scones. In fact, one of our friends was here on the weekend enjoying the scones, but based on my experience this time and what I have now read on these reviews, I won’t be back unfortunately."
"a quirky little diner with amazing sweets and lovely service. ordered the chai masala and jasmine tea to warm up, both teas were rich and flavoursome ! we also ordered 2 servings of scones and oatmeal’s waffles. both were made fresh and were incredibly fluffy. would highly recommend :)"
"Great little place. Super busy but they managed to squeeze us in. The fried chicken burger was delicious, very tasty batter on the chicken, and cooked to perfection. I'd also recommend the milkshakes."
"Very busy but was able to get a table. Service was great and reasonably fast considering how busy it was. Loved the menu. Loved the food. Loved the look and feel of the diner. Will go back to try other meals off the menu. We were impressed with the young employee's service and politeness and were disappointed when she was berated multiple times in front of us by a manager while she was trying to serve us."
