Reviews
"I used to come here quite frequently specifically for the duck. Definitely used to be a go to place for it. Unfortunately I didn’t review these recent google reviews prior to a todays visit & I have to agree with the recent reviews. The owner has changed, menu has changed and the duck has changed. The duck portion was quite large, however the duck tasted like it was heated up via the microwave and possibly multiple duck pieces from different ducks? Didn’t taste fresh. $100.00 meal, we left without eating it all and went to Burwood to get something else. Restaurant has a lot of potential, however feels quite neglected, poor ambiance and overall food quality has significantly dropped. Unfortunately, won’t try again unless I see a change in reviews."
"Please read other bad reviews as well. My mistake was I didn’t check first. I would give zero star. Do not come here !!! as it is no longer the same owner. Pecking Duck is terrible - the duck is not freshly cooked (I believe they used microwave), the Peking sauce taste very sour and the second dish is inedible. There is no taste of the previous restaurant. Definitely not worth $80 !!!"
"Very nice portion of duck in two ways. They serve the traditional duck immediately, but the second dish of the duck is 1.5hr wait. Lack of staff but the duck itself is very nice."
"The restaurant was quite smelly (duck smell) when I entered. Ordered a Pekin duck. Flavours are below average 2/10. Asked for salt and pepper to add more flavor and flavor is 4/10. Service is ok but the place was quite empty for a friday dinner 7/10. The place looks like a cheap fast food restaurant. Also was kinda expensive 70AUD for whole Pekin duck. Went to the toilet and it was ok 5/10. Big tables shows it is mainly for big families having every day lunch/dinner."
"We come here because they do an excellent Peking duck where the cuts are generous and you get value for your money. One $70 Peking duck comes with almost 30 pieces of skin with meat. Most places you might get 12-15. Service quality is poor (they stack new dishes on top of used ones on the lazy susan). Good for groups and credit cards incur 1.4% surcharge. We'd come back again for sure but don't expect great service; just come for the duck."
