"One of the best tacos I’ve had in a long time - very authentic, for lack of a better description."
"Had the Beef Quesabirria Tacos. Best tacos I’ve ever had!"
"Tacos here have good flavour, both the fillings and the sauces too. The pineapple habanero sauce in particular has good flavour - bit spicey but a bit of tropical kick, and the birria to dip your taco is full flavoured. However, it still needs a bit of work, as the tortilla shell is oversized compared to the amount of filling given, which makes it immediately seem like you aren't getting value, and at over $6 per taco it's going to be tough getting repeat customers. There are numerous articles with broadsheet, good food guide, gourmet traveller, broadsheet etc all sharing the same photos which suggest the portions are meant to be a lot more generous but you can see that is not the case in the tacos I recieved. The little third of a lime wedge that comes with each taco set of 3 could be enough but when one of mine was dry and juiceless it was extra sad. Jamaica (hibiscus) drink is nice, but given the price and the smallish size, you could think about bringing your own drink. While the prices reflect some of the social initiative that they stand for, at $43.50 for one person for lunch and not completely full I don't see how a social initiative will be enough if the price doesn't bring in some regulars. That social initiative is about paying it forward so tacos bought here pay for somewhere disadvantaged in Mexico, as well as employing locals with disabilities, so for now I'm probably being a little generous with a 4* but I hope they tune this operation quickly because for the price that first impression might be the last impression that most of their customers will ever have."
"$18 for three flaccid tacos with no toppings, served with 1/8 of a lime (toppings and sides $4-$6 each extra). $19.5 for the beef. Not worth the hype or the queue. There's far better Taqueria that represent much the value within walking distance. My compadre had the Tostada which was reportedly very average as well."
