"Friendly and welcoming owner. Best scone and we learned how to eat it the Irish way! So glad we stopped in!"
"We stopped in on a quiet, off-season morning to read our books and watch the ocean under the shelter of the cafe’s awning. The owner and staff were kind and served with a side of humour. The real star, though, was the best cake I’ve ever had. The chocolate almond cake is to die for - I’m not a cake fan and almost never like chocolate cakes, but this was divine. Buttery, moist, and flavourful!"
"My husband and I visited the Aran Island on a rainy day. The seas were pretty rough going over. Before leaving the island we stopped at the Cafe Una and my husband purchased a soda and a scone. I did not order anything in fear of the rough seas ahead. While he was eating I used the restroom. As I exited the restaurant a woman who I assumed is the owner asked if I was OK. I said yes. In a rude manner she said this is a cafe. Confused I said excuse me. She again said rudely this is a cafe. I wasn’t following and she then said in a raised voice this is not a public toilet. I was shocked. I explained that my husband had made a purchased and was currently eating at the table over there. She never apologized just stared at me. I’ve never in my life met anyone if the food service as rude. Even though the scone was very good I left with a sour taste."
"Bad coffee and rude family unfriendly owner. This cafe is on the beach side and the owner told us off in front of staff and customers for changing my 3yo T-shirt and for bringing sand in on our feet. again it’s on the beach full of families. He says this is a restaurant (it’s a cafe)and turned around shouting for f@&k sakes. Defo avoid if you have kids."
"Could night ask for a nicer experience while visiting this island. It's right off the dock. They offer a good range of coffees, teas, and treats which are hand made by Una. Sure also is a knitter and has sales of her work on display. Finally there is much island lore available and she is knowledgeable about it And can discuss it with you."
