"One of the highlights of our weekend away. It wouldn't be for everyone, doesn't have the formal gardens or plant variety of the likes of Altamont. The cafe is limited in selection but is a beautiful space to relax in. Shankill has massive atmosphere and character, a little scruffy, charmingly eccentric. The ancient graveyard has the most amazing headstones if you take time to search the carvings. We'll go back next time we're in the area and hope to tour the house in future."
"Our first time to visit the beautiful grounds and cafe of shankill Castle today but we shall certainly be back. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and delicious cakes , followed by a winter stroll around the gorgeous grounds and gardens. Lots of outdoor seating also for these covid times , highly recommend a visit !"
"Amazing location, tastefully refurbished where necessary. We got a friendly welcome and were treated like long lost cousins. Elizabeth is an amazing woman with a wealth knowledge and fabulous personality. The treats at the cafe were a perfect taste to follow the beautiful walk around the property after a truly historic and eccentric tour of a big small irish house. If you are in the area, you must not skip this stop."
