"We landed in to Hogan's hoping for food, hadn't booked ahead but we were starved! The kitchen had closed and we were ready to find somewhere else to eat. Laur, the owner, asked us if Lasagne, chips and salad would do us and we jumped at the offer. What a gent! He couldn't send us away hungry. We had a couple of creamy delicious pints of Guinness and the food was super. Just what 2 hungry mountain bikers needed. We had great chats with Laur and his partner Mary, two fantastic hosts. I haven't had such hospitality in a long time, a very special place! They just won Country Pub of the Year too and I can see why. Little gem."

"We arrived into Hogan's at 8.30pm after going mountain biking for a few hours in the Sleiveblooms. We asked if they were still doing food but the kitchen had closed (at 8pm). But then the owner, Laur Hogan, went above and beyond and offered us lasagne and chips. We were absolutely delighted, because we were quite hungry. We ordered a couple of pints of Guinness and the food arrived out a few minutes later. It was delicious, as were the pints. Mary was very welcoming and Laur even sat with us to have a chat. This is a great little pub. We were in the bar, which is a great spot. "Nan's kitchen" off to one side of the bar and looks like a lovely place to have dinner. They also just won an award for best country pub. And I can see why... Great pints, great food, great hospitality, sound people. We'll be back."

"Nice pub in Coolrain. We were there for a family lunch on a Saturday. Very friendly staff, good food, correct price, lovely buildings. Space to park outside."
