"Dear Ardilaun Guesthouse Team, end of September 2022 we stayed in room #5 for 3 nights (arriving Tuesday 27th Sept., leaving Friday 30th Sept.). In general, our stay was ok, the room itself is nice and clean, thanks to riverside we enjoyed the quietness. However, there are a number of reasons for a complaint: ​Breakfast announced – but no breakfast available; on your website, you advertise breakfast ... even with great pictures. But it is not real. This is disappointing and should be properly communicated instead of raising wrong expectations. ​Bathroom – ugly (see pictures): Unfortunately, the bathroom had several issues: o Black mould in the shower – a no-go! o The water tap of the sink is loose o The knob for controlling the heating was laying on the floor (in the main room as well) The soap bottle above the sink is permanently dripping soap into the sink Service – enough room for improvement On Thursday, our room was not cleaned. We had no fresh cups, no coffee sachets, no milk – we had to fetch it on Friday morning from the “dining” room. Except for Tuesday afternoon, when we checked in and paid for our stay, we never saw someone at the reception desk; that is why we send our complaint now through email. It would be very much appreciated by us to receive a response and some sign of good-will. Otherwise, we will not be in a position to recommend your place to friends and others – on the contrary! I filed this complaint with the Ardilaun Guesthouse directly nearly 7 weeks ago. I had no reaction whatsoever!!"

"VERY POSITIVE STAY. Lovely service. Very clean and the rooms were a decent size. Breakfast was Continental, there was plenty for my family of four (we paid for breakfast after we checked out) The place does require a few minor updates and lipstick renovations to the rooms (I didn’t see them all, so could have been just our room and they are doing them as they go) but doesn’t affect the stay at all. DEFINITELY would stay here again, the town is great and lots of things to do in and around! (Written while during stay)"

"It was fit for purpose at best. We stayed 6nights and spent more time out of the property than in it. Advertises lake view rooms- not only is it not a lake (its a river) but its down a hill, so it cant be seen from the rooms. We did not bother with the breakfast as you did not seem to get much for the price we were told- there is definately not any Irish Breakfast. It is bed with an option for continental breakfast. The room was clean and the staff hoovered, changed towels and made the bed daily- which was good however we did have to leave the bin sitting in the middle of the floor to make sure it was emptied. Bathroom and shower is very small but was at least clean. The furniture in our room was falling apart, drawers coming off the units. Radiators didnt turn on at all and the window handles are broken. It is a good location and staff are nice on approach, although you do have to ring them as there is rarely anyone at the desk."
