"Just a beautiful tranquil place, access can be difficult, but that's how you keep this secret place special. Update: you must have permission to enter."
"Stunning Place to Visit , Nature at its best Serene Setting and kept immaculate Must visit place if you are nearby"
"My wife and I spent a night in the Boathouse on this amazing estate. Our room looked onto the Blackwater where we were entertained by the activities of magnificent birds and other wildlife. The room was spacious and warm. The bed had an electric blanket which was very cosy indeed! It was quiet and peaceful with only the sounds of nature to listen to and admire. There was no WiFi signal in the room, but that suited us both. There are splendid walks throughout the estate and today we were blessed with October sunshine and colour. The odd gentle rustle of the wind rained down golden leaves on our path. Ballynatray House Estate is a glorious place to rest and relax."
"My girlfriend and I recently spent the most magical few days in Ballynatray Estate. The 850 acre estate set on the Irish Rhine (aka The Blackwater) boasts magnificent views and complete serenity. Carmel in the office could not be more helpful and the staff in general and welcoming and encourage guests to enjoy the estate to its full. The boathouse we stayed in is well appointed apart from the lack of door on the toilet. The serenity means having to leave the estate for meals but it is worth the sacrifice. If you want to get away from it all on majestic splendour just book now!"
"Stayed in the boat house on the estate for a weekend in February, with my partner. The estate is fantastic and well manicured. When we arrived late on the Friday evening to the boat house (as notified to the office ) the room was very cold and after switching the two small convector heaters on full and putting on the electric blanket on full we both still had to sleep with our clothes on. Not the most romantic start to the weekend that i would have imagined. The room did heat up the following day. The room is very basic and the toilet has no door for privacy which meant one out of the room if toilet was used. Just a note that there is no TV or radio in the room so at night you might want to bring a laptop to connect to the WiFi. The view is super during the day but at night not much else. You could say five star prices for three star facilities. Certainly not the worst weekend, but felt disappointed in the end!"
