"The best school ever"
"Good school"
"You as students may not think it now, but you'll wish for a single day back there again before adult life starts, great very old famous school started by Brother Edmund Ignatius Rice"
"Steeped in heritage. The North Monastery or "The Mon" as it's affectionately known, is comprised of two separate and distinct schools. The first section being the 'AG' where the students are thought exclusively in Irish. The AG would be the closest thing to an Irish 'Eton college' but with no fees. Hence the reason why so many of the teachers within the school had their children attend. The Alumni of the AG have traditionally reached the upper echelons of career success in the worlds of banking, politics, education and the Arts, to name but a few. The other section of the school is the 'Academic' section. Students attending this school were a mixed bunch. These would range from the high achievers to the outright 'gurriors' or messer's who had no more interest in the virtues of a good education than their AG fellow students would have in a career of carpet fitting. With such a mix of students in the Academic section, there were regular instances of bullying and the after school fight was at least twice a month near the Fair Hill school gate. Yours truly had engaged in two fights in his time but only as an act of warning off the bullies. In my student days at the Mon (1990 - 1995), there were laughs and there were tears. As I get older I try to remember more the laughs than the tears."
