"Had a really lovely stay at the Old Dispensary in Kinsale. The hotel operates a self check-in system which was easy to follow, and the room was very comfortable and large. It’s only a couple of minutes walk to the center of the town, so you can be right in the action in no time at all, but also away from the noise for some relaxing times. Would definitely stay again next time in Kinsale."
"A delightful stay! The house is a tall & narrow town house with only 2 rooms per floor. Don’t be deceived! Each room is spacious, well kept and comfy. For those who don’t mind stairs, request room number 3 for a a beautiful sunrise each morning and a view of kinsale. Check in was easy once you got a key and we were able to come and go as we pleased. The only sad thing is that breakfast is no longer offered, I’m not sure if this is a post Covid thing or not! Thankfully there are several delicious breakfast establishments nearby (shout out to Cozy Cafe)"
"Room 1 was great much bigger then I thought! Lovely modern decor and roll top bath aswell. 2 min walk to the centre/quayside and quiet location with parking outside."
"The Dispensary, Room 5 We showed up to find that we had the room on the top floor, what used to be the attic. Six flights of stairs inside, including 76 steps, after climbing 20 steps to the front door outside, and no elevator. The room was pretty, but furnishings and finishes were cheap. Within minutes of laying on the bed my back hurt and I had to switch sides with my wife who is much smaller. The windows open in from the ceiling and between the gaps for the very necessary breeze in the hottest part of the building and the broken shade on one of the windows you will absolutely awaken with the sunrise. It will also rain into the room. In case of fire below you will probably die as there is no emergency exit in the room. The shower door doesn't close. The drain is slow to drain, so mind the volume of water coming out. We were forced to leave water on the floor because the owners did not even reply, much less respond to the problems. A second shower head, not the water from it but the metal itself, in the direct middle of the shower hits me in the face so I have to stand to the side and use the other head. The only place to put your electric toothbrush is standing up on the bathroom chair rail. There's nowhere to put other toiletries except the floor. If you want to blow-dry your hair you will have to move a nightstand to access the plug under it and stand behind the bed to use the only mirror near an electric source. There are no stands for your bags and nowhere other than the floor to keep them unless you unpack onto closed shelves. This place was designed by checking boxes and no one tried to imagine what staying in it would be like. Were this the 17th century when the building was constructed this would have been glorious, but the year is 2022."
"Overall very happy with the place! Very clean and peaceful. Only issues were the ensuite bathroom door would not shut so had no privacy in there and bathroom blind was a bit fiddly but otherwise everything else was perfect! Easy check in and out and found parking outside which was convenient and free."
