"Was really lovely , service was good. However we order the sharing platter and two of the items were not available. Would be good that this was relayed before ordering (substitutes were offered but should think the chef should know what they have in stock prior to service, and we ordered just after 12 so not like end of the day)"
"I know Marstons doesn’t really care but: Below-Average at best: the table was filthy, the grooves in the table had not been cleaned in a long, long time. Email me and I’ll send you photos. Horrible. Glasses covered in lipstick, Pepsi glasses had an accumulation on and clearly hadn’t been renovated in a long time. You’re part of a big brewery, I’m sure they can provide new glasses. Chips were cold, as were sweet potato fries. Veggie burger looked lacklustre for the princely sum of £14/15. I told the manager (pleasant guy) all about the above, but let’s be fair Marstons as a company do not care that I live up the road as they’ve got 1400 new houses a couple of miles away being built they can rely on. The waiter was a nice kid, but wearing muddy trainers Isn’t the best look but to be fair, given the state of the Dragon he didn’t look out of place. Outside was littered with rubbish, paint peeling, toilets filthy I could go on but I’ve been admitted to hospital. In a nutshell, as a company you are trying to be something you’re not. There is a market for low quality cheap food at a low price, there is a market for high quality at a high price but poor quality in lacklustre facilities at a high price just doesn’t work. You’re trying to compete with some actually good places to eat locally and failing. I very occasionally use the Dragon because it’s convenient; not because I like it- Isn’t that a shame? Try some of the local restaurants and pubs and then compare the same thing with what is offered by Marstons in the dragon and I dare you to try to tell me that they’re comparable. Thanks for reading."
"Visited this PUB and was shocked at the prices, now if we had gone to a high end restaurant i would have been happy to pay the prices but not for pup grub. I think because it is in a nice village they think they can charge what they like. We just left without ordering,, even if they say it is good quality food there was nothing on the menu the gave me the impression of that. Just basic stuff that you would find in any pup these days. Will not be going back."
"We only popped in for a drink after walking in the area. Many years since I visited this pub, I was pleasantly surprised loved they had a dog restaurant area very well organised plus the food not only smelt amazing it looked amazing. Will definitely return in the near future."
"The atmosphere was warm and pleasant. The pub has a wonderful old feel about it, kept traditional but brought into the modern era without any impact on the character of the pub. We ordered a few sides as we were on a walk in the area and they came out promptly and were very enjoyable. With the lovely experience we had We have planned another walk around the area to finish of at the green dragon for a meal."
