"We had a family birthday get together and enjoyed the three course Sunday lunch. The food was fabulous as was the service, the staff were exceptional, friendly and nothing was too much trouble."
"We Booked the ‘Festive Break’ as we wanted to be away and looked after as we had just lost my father. We Phoned up on the way to say we were running late but they told us they didn’t have us booked In for dinner? We Said we were on the festive break! Oh they said..well we only have one steak left. When we arrived staff were still decorating (it was Xmas eve evening) carrier bags everywhere and not really welcomed. Hotel cold, room freezing so we asked for another duvet as it was no thicker that 1 tog!! No water came out of the shower and the tiny bath under window with the wind blowing through wafting the blind. Raggy towels and not that clean. I had ‘the’ steak which I could have soled my shoe with. Oh and no fish n chips either! Not exactly busy as only a couple of rooms booked. Xmas dinner was good though staff not too on the ball as we had to ask for wine. Only then we got a wine list. Xmas night there was just us staying and one member of staff. No chef, but we were told that there was a pub down the road or we could order in!! We asked if they would be able to make something so some we got some dried up sandwiches that were made earlier. It was Xmas day!!!!!!!! Most decorations were also taken down after Xmas dinner . Then again why would they keep them up just for two paying guests eh? Next morning our one staff member was wearing a tracksuit and cooking our breakfast as the chef was a ‘no show’! We asked for poached eggs but said he couldn’t do those.l! No atmosphere or music either it was Boxing Day!! Guess he was just waiting for us to leave. For this we paid £170 per night for B&B.????? Everything else was extra! So, with Xmas Dinner etc our 2 Days cost a total of £585. Not quite sure what the Festive Break included. But guess what? Neither did they? And no discount even when we complained except he took off a pot of tea! Not sure they know what Xmas is!! Oh dear oh dear, there is something so wrong there and Rowley Manor used to be such a fabulous place. We are so disappointed and didn’t feel like Xmas at all. In fact we just felt like we were in the way!"
"On the 22nd October myself and partner had our wedding reception at Rowley Manor and we could not fault anything, the staff went above and beyond to ensure everyone had everything they needed. The front of house staff ensured we had canapes as we were off having pictures they brought them up to our room as my wife went up to feed our daughter. The food was great allergies and intolerances catred for including the canapes. The starters, main and desert of the wedding breakfast was perfect, the staff were non-stop continually serving table after table. The bar was staffed to accomodate the volume of guests. Overal the venue was perfect for our reception after getting married at the adjacent church. We would like to say a special thank you to Devjani, Julie and Rohan who were brilliant from the planning to the next day when we left."
"Lovely area. A great old Georgian manor house on super grounds. Breakfast was super, hotel was old but quirky. Stayed in room 2. Views from the windows were great. Went for a walk to the church on the grounds. Great pub nearby called the black horse. Just needs a bit of renovation to the windows and bathrooms although the room itself was super big. Just a bit tired but overall a great pitstop and welcoming staff."
"Nice place. Rooms are a bit dated and ours could do to be repainted but quite nice overall. Water pressure is not great in the shower but there's not much you can do about that. Staff are excellent, really good at their jobs. Location is lovely with horses in the fields outside and a church on the grounds. Great place for a wedding. Nice cooked breakfast included, both normal and veggie options. Would recommend."
