"We dine here fairly regularly and just love the ambience of the place. It's the epitome of an English country pub and the staff are what makes it so welcoming and friendly. We've had varied experiences regarding the food, but if something is not up to the standard we expect, it is quickly rectified. In all fairness, the delicious food we've eaten here far outweighs the occasional disappointment, and the fact we keep coming back says it all! It's our "local" and although it can be expensive, we're very glad to have it on our doorstep."
"A warm welcome awaits at this beautiful village pub. It was our first visit but we immediately felt at home as everyone wished us happy new year. The food was amazing, the layout convivial without feeling crowded and the roaring open fire was lovely"
"The food was good, but for a non-discretionary 12.5% service charge, I would expect to have been provided with a knife that would cut through the meat, to be offered coffee and when the coffee arrives after requesting it at the bar, that it would come with sugar. The staff were polite and smiley, but there were a lot of cobwebs and mouldy window frames, so it was a bit disappointing."
"The pub is nice and cosy. The food prices are quite high and portions are small. I am not a big eater, and unfortunately, I was left hungry after finishing the plate of roast chicken with mashed potatoes. The pudding was tasty, but I only ordered it as I was still hungry after the main. We paid almost £60 for two meals, one pudding and two cups of tea, which in my opinion is a little bit overpriced for a pub lunch. Shame."
"We had a brilliant time staying here for two nights. The room was very clean and fitted out with very comfortable furniture. The food in the pub was excellent, we had dinner there one night as well as the breakfast and it was delicious."
