"Had an amazing Sunday lunch here with 4 generations of our family, we went with buggy and wheelchair and we were made so welcome. Food five stars Service five stars"
"Shame as we have eaten here twice before and had super roasts. Today was not good. My husband had a steak pie & fries that was ok hence 2 stars I chose The Crook curry with chicken at extra cost. What arrived looked fine but was at best tepid, watery liquid with very little flavour or content Nan bread was dry cardboard, rice was fine. Even though hungry I ate only a small amount. I told the waitress and asked her to remove it from our bill. Upshot of that was a very rude women, manageress or owner telling me I should have returned the meal uneaten and should note this for the future. I pointed out that I had only eaten very little of it. She then had the nerve to suggest I went home and made something myself!! Note this for the future - you don’t have one for us."
"We received a very warm welcome , the room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. Woke this morning to a herd of deer just outside the window. The food was very well presented and super tasty and the barman/waiter had an excellent manner and was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The lady owner was very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely recommend this as a lovely place to stay ."
"Can't comment on their new accommodation as only popped in for a light lunch. What an improvement! The pub has been tastefully refurbished and it's now really nice, bright and airy with friendly staff. We both had a baguette which was very good. We had a look at their main menu - for future reference - and will be booking an evening meal here in the not too distant future. Would certainly recommend."
