"We hadn't booked but they found a table for us on a very busy day. The food was excellent. My daughter loved her vegetarian halloumi salad and l had a burger and sweet potato fries. Followed by excellent desserts. Friendly, helpful and cheerful waitress."
"Went for a Friday evening meal with my wife. Seated promptly to our table and offered the various menus. Food and service was very good. Waiting staff very friendly and polite. May been seen as expensive, but you get what you pay for here. A very enjoyable visit."
"I came here for a 40th birthday party, this is my second visit to this restaurant and again I was very impressed with how friendly and attentive the staff were. There was a big table of us and they managed to take our orders and bring our food in a timely manner. The steak was so tender and soft and the onion bread is a must. Thursday nights are date night, so you can get 3 courses for £28, depending on what you have, as some have a small supplement charge. An enjoyable evening all in all, apart from the fire alarm going off and them having to evacuate everyone, luckily we had finished our meals by then. Worth a visit, for special occasions, as it is quite pricey."
"Simply not good enough. Let me explain. This is not your ordinary, run-of-the-mill pub. Their prices are quite steep and their dress code is smart casual - two facts that are very contrary to your usual local pub. However the decor is only “ok” and the quality of food doesn’t even come close to the prices they charge. The table my wife and I were seated at was so poorly cleaned (over a long period of time) that the salt and pepper shakers were literally stuck to the table. Not a good start. We shared a starter, each had a main course, had a couple of drinks each and we each had a dessert - our bill came to £100! Now I’ve eaten at Michelin Star restaurants and I’d expect to pay £100 there, but at a pub? As if that wasn’t bad enough, they couldn’t prepare the food properly: my wife ordered her steak medium and it came medium-rare and I ordered mine medium-rare and it came medium. They’re supposed to be a Steak House and they can’t even get the steak orders right. I will concede that the food is probably slightly better than a local pub but definitely not twice (if not more) the price nice. My wife and I were looking forward to trying this restaurant but we left quite disappointed - there are simply much, much better restaurants out there for those kinds of prices. And they’d have more appropriate decor (and clean tables) too."
"Eat in meal for joint birthdays, actual steaks were lovely, few minus points: 1) starter mix ups but resolved quickly 2) coleslaw had no sauce 3) steak knives were huge but not as sharp as would have expected 4) had to ask for glass with my bottle beer, would have expected to be asked 5) cheap quality napkins for somewhere that expects a dress code. Server was friendly so plus point. Not sure I’d bring super posh friends but it was nice to dress up for the occasion."
