"Great architecture and very historic"
"Richmond Barracks was a British Army barracks in Inchicore, Dublin, Ireland. The barracks, which were named after Charles Lennox, 4th Duke of Richmond, were completed in 1810 and first occupied by the British Army in 1814.Many Irishmen were stationed there before going overseas to fight in the First World War.During the First World War the barracks also served as the 2nd cavalry depot providing accommodation for the 4th Queen's Own Hussars, the 8th King's Royal Irish Hussars, the 11th Hussars and the 13th Hussars. It is now a cultural centre. It is home to a library, garden, and Culture Connects, a programme of cultural activities that celebrate the experiences and interests of the local communities and people. There are guided tours on Thursday and Saturday :Richmond Barracks to Kilmainham walking tour & Goldenbridge Cemetery tour. I was missing documentary there to feel vibes of that time."
"Did the history tour. It was fantastic. I knew Inchicore was historic but truly it is steeped in history - every single inch of it. The tour guide, Fergus, was excellent - he is a historian with exceptional knowledge of the area. I cannot recommend this tour and tour guide highly enough. If you have any interest in history then you need to do this tour."
"This place is steeping in Irish history. Wonderful, well informed staff that are extremely helpful and friendly. Little hidden gem! Due to family history we visited. Very reasonable prices and a lovely little cafe too!"
"My father went to school here when it was known as St Michael's. This museum is extremely interesting, especially if you have connections to the history of it. The refurbishment has been very well done and has a great cafe too. Friendly staff and it's a great addition to the community. Will be revisiting soon!"
