"One of the most horrible experiences ever in a massively overpriced and totally disappointing unit. They failed to disclose you share a hallway/corridor with a family and they use this for access to a door that leads to their flat upstairs above the unit - the floors above make so much noise and they have a dog and children and the noise is constant. The kitchen has only 2 sets of plates or utensils, there is no juicer or Nutribullet as they state. The bathroom is freezing and horrible, the beds are tiny and so soft you would be better in a hammock. You communicate with an offshore call centre and they offer no support or any reasonable assistance, have no idea of the property or its state etc This is stupidly expensive!"
"Communication & Customer Service lacking. Will only communicate by email-Worst experience ever with vacation rental. Our place had no heat-IN JANUARY 2023, Had a horrible smell, we were treated like we were doing something wrong. We were in a strange country, no heat, cameras in the living area. They would only complain that we checked in early. We requested an early check in at booking! This is just a few of the problems we encountered. Any response was defensive. Listen to your customers. They pay your bills. I travel annually to London and will never use this company again! I still don't have my deposit back and I never even stayed there! NEVER AGAIN, should have had read the reviews on line. I am not the only customer this has happened to."
"Abysmal. Offered shower at gym instead of fixing hot water. Freezing January, -5C at night, house poorly insulated, had to use two blankets sitting on the sofa at night just to stop shivering, terrible night's sleep, shower the next morning ran hot and cold. We left the property and called to ask for a refund or alternative local property. They point blank refused a refund before even investigating, then sent a handyman two days later who checked the temperature of the radiator (not the room) and the sink and bath (not the shower), declared it habitable, and they refused any compensation whatsoever. Their proposed solution was extra blankets, heaters, and to shower in a local gym. I honestly had to check that they weren't joking. Now disputing the charge through my credit card company and if required will take through small claims as I cannot afford to lose £1,000 on literally nothing. They are clearly on the side of the homeowners and not their customer. Avoid like the plague."
"As an owner, I have been working with Under The Doormat for several months now and I am very happy about its service. The staff is always polite, they never delay in answering our queries, payments are regularly made and we feel like our flat is in safe hands."
"Price is what you pay, value is what you get. Don’t stay here if you actually plan on sleeping. For the price I paid I was expecting a lot more when compared to other accommodation in the area. I can’t sit up straight in the bath, couch is uneven and caves in, bed is not comfortable, I actually tried sleeping on the floor last night. And I’ve purchased sleeping pills to sleep tonight due to noise. The receptionist is lovely and trying to accommodated me and I must say is trying her best which I appreciate but I would not recommend anyone stay here as it’s not worth it. I haven’t slept in 3 days and I can’t get a refund which they refuse for about her 6 night. They’re meant to be selling overnight accommodation and I can’t even sleep"
