"This Service has some great Counsellors but they are let down by the overall lack of empathy and care from the Organisation itself. I have had two experiences with them now since 2014 and while the Medical Professionals I come across were prepared and easy to talk to I have the impression that they are tied up to some ridiculous regulations put in place, almost if they were not allowed to help patients who reached out. The reason why I am saying this is that twice I self referred due to severe depression and twice I was told that IAPT can only provide short term treatment so, because I need long term teraphy I need to look elsewhere. Both times the Counsellors apologised for telling me which led me to believe that there is an inside malfunction. If someone needs long term teraphy and IAPT can't offer it they should be able to refer you to a different Institute rather than telling you to "try to find a private therapist or contact a Charity" - they actually directed me to two Charities but I don't want to spend 20£ to be see by a Trainee, my mental health is worth much more than that! My assessment online was processed in 48 hours and I was able to book a telephone consultation within the day but I was also discharged on the same call.Sadly both Counsellors I have come across are not working privately. I wonder if IAPT has actually ever helped anyone..."
"Terrible. They failed to contact my son on the first and second rearranged meeting time. No apology or contact afterwards. Don't feel like to trust them at all."
"Fantastic services! Like many I was really anxious about going through this method of treatment, however, I can categorically say it has been a great experience from start to finish. The techniques used are very helpful and if done right with the guide of the therapist, could change behaviours and thought patterns, and help in being better equipped at dealing with the conditions. It is tough and only becomes tougher if not acted on. Thank you Ealing IAPT and to those who helped me at the initial stages (Laura G) and who carried on supporting throughout the course (Eileen P), and a very big thank you and appreciation to my therapist, who was knowledgeable, confident, compassionate and committed at every stage of the journey.(Natasha M)"
"Waiting for appointment but got cancelled last minute. I asked when I next will be seen, but did not say. Reception staff incredibly rude and dismissive. If I could give a 0 I would. Rubbish place!!! Go elsewhere they don't care about anyone. This place needs to be shut down!!"
"Awful team, no psychiatrists. They 'listen' to you and judge you for the trauma you unload on them. The comments they make are so petty and unhelpful... After 3 sessions, Igor discharged me when i had just come back from a holiday with a suicide attempt. This was after told me to stop journaling so "I wouldn't be in my head as much" "
