"So unhappy with this practice, I have been a paying NHS patient since I moved to Bristol in 2007 and was always happy with the service, but I have not had a check up recently due to the pandemic, I rang today to book myself in to be told I have been archived!!! I have had no correspondence telling me of this !!! Due to being Extremely Critically Vulnerable I have avoided going to the dentist and I also am aware how busy and difficult it has been for dental practitioners. I am beyond upset !!!!"

"Impossible to get an appointment as my dentist left and they haven’t been able to replace them. This has been an ongoing issue for over 2 years. I can only get an appointment with another dentist in an emergency; or I can pay to go private to see them. Surely routine check ups are important to avoid emergencies. Unfair system but cannot get registered at any other dentist in Bristol, and refuse to pay to go private for what should be under NHS as a registered patient."

"Saw Dr Gaye and Huda the hygienist. Have been a patient of Gaye and this practice since I was a child but hadn’t been since before the pandemic and got through to reception on 2 rings. They were able to book me in the next week. Gaye is great and did a checkup and Huda was friendly and did a really thorough clean. She took her time to go through my dental routine and recommend the correct size interdental brushes. Although the hygienist is private, the price was extremely reasonable. In the current climate, I feel so grateful to be a patient of this NHS practice. Thank you Bupa Dental Care."

"The most ridiculous place ever. I was told the practice would be open today BUT NO it is lunch time, so need to wait. They just display the note on the door. Reception staff is very rude,they disconect you on the phone while you are taking to them. I had my root broken, was advised to have it done privately, but told by a dentist, I would get a referral to a dental hospital just in case,which never happened. I was refused to get an emergency appointment despite being in pain. The manager probably only checks people's reviews and ask everyone to ring the practise , putting " patients priority first" What a joke!"

"I have not had a general check up since before the pandemic. During the pandemic I had one visit due to excruciating pain caused by infection, but was told there was nothing they could do but give me anti biotics. I was finally offered a check up in Jan 2022, but this was subsequently cancelled. After having called several times over the year, I have ascertained that this is because no dentist works at this practice anymore... It's now Sept, and still no dentist has been hired. Last week, the front half of one of my teeth, that had previously had a root canal, literally fell off in my mouth. I was told that I could be given an appointment, but had to wait 3 days to be seen. When I did go in, I was told that all the could do was take the tooth out - but the dentist would not be able to do any kind of follow up i.e. denture/bridge work as they are only there for emergencies. So now I am stuck. I cannot get another NHS dentist. I just have to wait, indefinitely, with the 4th tooth from the front missing (it looks very obvious when I smile) and no idea how long it will be until I can get any kind of resolution to this. I was of course told private was an option... but this is not an option for me financially. I am also saddened by the knowledge that if I had been able to have had a regular dental check up over the last year, this might have been caught in time. I have been advised that crowns are quite often suggested to be fitted after a root canal to decrease the risk of losing the tooth. This option has never once been suggested to me in all the years I have been a patient. I am posting this here because I am simply at a loss for what to do now. It's depressing to feel so powerless and yet be receiving so little care."
