"Just picked up our ten month old beautiful, gentle rescue Irish wolfhound DrewRoo from his stay after he took Pneumonia. His care was excellent and from almost losing him, to to getting him home, we were kept up to date with his progress. He was so well taken care of and loved by all. We cannot thank everyone involved enough for pulling him through. He had such a bad start in his life and hopefully now he will have the best. You are our heroes, thank you all from the bottom of our hearts x"
"Having seen all the five star reviews we were happy and confident that our Labrador Misty would be in great hands when our vet referred her for an appointment on the 2nd of February 2023 at 1215pm. The appointment went well, specialist was superb, explained everything etc and Misty was given a clean bill of health. We dutifully paid the £290 required, £40 to submit direct claim to our insurance company, the remaining £250 as a deposit incase of things insurance didn't cover. Job done we thought. Checked with insurance company as nothing showing on their online claim tracker as of the 9th February. Phoned insurance company to check,no claim showing and they have no record of a claim being made. Dutifully phone VSS to be told they were waiting on the clinician signing off the paperwork! When queried about the length of time taken I was informed they had emergencies etc. I fully understand that they happen and should take priority, however it surely doesn't take a week to sign a form. All the while we wait with the financial stress and strain of not knowing if our claim will be covered. The claims specialist at front of house said they didn't have a time scale for how long it would take! Don't get me wrong. The vetinary care is superb, let down by the administrative processes and lackadaisical attitude to processing claims as efficiently and timely as possible."
"Reading all the good reviews here I was expecting an excellent level of care and service from this hospital. I was hugely let down and they made a stressful situation even worse. I was referred there by my local vets for my cat to have an MRI. He had a neurogical condition and suspected FIP. The lack of communication and empathy from the neurologist Sue and the rest of the team has been appalling. I understand my cat's case was challenging but there's no excuse for not calling to explain things as promised and ignoring my concerns when my cat worsened after days of waiting for his treatment protocol to be sent to my vets. My vets requested a call back that never happened and when receiving the report there was no acknowledgement to his worsening. It was actually never acknowledged at all. Their excuse is that they're very busy with emergencies which I absolutely understand happen and need to be addressed first, but in the space of a week there's surely time for the other cases to be looked into. Otherwise they should only accept emergencies. I was made feel I was a bother when emailing requesting information after the failed to call as promised. The whole thing was very distressing and I felt absolutely helpless seeing my cat worsening before my eyes and having my concerns ignored. Awful experience and hoping not to need their services again"
"Where do I start, our cat Rafiki took unwell two weeks ago after being with our local vet for a few days and not knowing what the issue was the only option from them was to put him to sleep. Something we couldn’t imagine doing, so he mentioned the veterinary specialist Scotland. We jumped at the chance to get him there, after a long drive to Livingston from Skye - we were seen by Nick, who took on Rafiki. We left him there and before we had even got home we got a call to say that he knew the issue and had done the procedure that was needed to unblock his urethra. The next few days were tender hooks - but the 2x daily calls from Nick and his team to update us on Rafiki and to hear that he was being a bit of a menace - made it worth while. I can’t thank Nick and his team for what they have done for our family and Rafiki - without them we wouldn’t have him home and on the road to recovery. Would definitely recommend and it’s definitely worth a second opinion if possible."
"We were referred here when our dog Bella was very ill with a lung problem. From the very start they were fantastic - the staff on reception, the vet Joanna and all the nurses. The care was excellent and they clearly had Bella's best interests at the centre of all decisions. They were also very kind and supportive to us, and were particularly accommodating as we were travelling three hours from Inverness each time, helping us with hotel suggestions and irregular visiting hours. Bella needed major surgery and they kept us fully informed, involved in the decisions and were clear and open about possible outcomes. The surgery to remove part of her lung was successful and their genuine expertise was clear throughout. We are so very grateful to them and can't recommend them highly enough."
