"Grateful for the later closing time, as it allowed me to pop in for something rather than ordering online to be delivered. They had what I needed - though it took me a second to find it. Malt paste is sold as a vitamin supplement for ferrets, but really isn't ideal for them, for rats it can be used sparingly as a reward/treat. So I was looking in the treat/snacks area for small pets, rather than the hygiene/treatments area - quickly rectified once I noticed my error. They do carry a small selection of reptile/herp supplies, and these are located in the far left corner (when entering), on shelves facing the entrance. Next to this are the fish/aquarium supplies in the back row of shelves, a couple of columns worth - and a small section on one dedicated to wildlife related food and shelter supplies. Then, still on the back row, there is cat food and litter trays, dog beds, their dog toy selection, food bowls, and frozen dog food followed by tins. Then the beginning of dry dog food, which is continued in the front row (now at front right). Moving to the left (roughly, memory isn't perfect!), then, dog treats - including the 'pick'n'mix' selection and chews - puppy supplies, collars and harnesses, tags, leads. A special offers shelf area. Then a couple of smaller shelves of cat toys and cuddly things, which are smaller because the till counter is located front and centre, so these reside between that and the back row of shelves. The first full length on the left contains hygiene and medical treatment products, puppy pads, grooming tools, that sort of thing. And finally there is the small animal section. Runs etc on the larger outside shelves right at the front, an aisle of enrichment - cage furniture, toys, and treats - along with a selection of complete foods. The end has the hygiene etc items for small animals and birds, along with a selection of enclosures - mostly suitable as a base for free roaming, hospital or quarantine accommodation, temporary housing, or as part of a larger setup. It's vital to do thorough research on the space these small pets need! The animals themselves are located along this far left wall, only to the stairs (to the right of which is where there are some books, and the sign selection - ie Beware: Bichon Frise lives here). There are a couple of the rabbit/guinea pig spaces with enclosures above, then the rest are the vivarium style enclosures with a little mesh. The store has always been clean and tidy when I've visited, with staff getting on with things. I can't speak as to staff knowledge - my experience with pet stores generally is that I'm more familiar with most species care requirements than they are. Staff have always been lovely as well, especially when I'm able to bring my own dog in for a visit. A number of employees have taken interest in her, which is always a nice feeling - we obviously love our own pets, and others sharing in that is a good feeling. In general: dog and cat supplies are pretty well covered. If you can't get the exact item you want, and it's not simply out of stock, you'll likely find an appropriate alternative in store for most things. Regarding dog coats and harnesses - there's a selection, it's at least useful for gauging sizing, whether the average coat runs short or long for your dog's body length, that sort of thing. Small pets, you'll find an appropriate habitat for the short term at least, key medical and hygiene products, and a good selection of toys/treats, plus the main complete diet options - if something specific is important, and it's not a general hanging toy, grass house or mat, it is worth checking stock. Fish supplies are much the same as small pets, though there is more variety in small tanks compared to small pet cages simply due to sizing. Reptiles/herps - basic substrate, tongs/feeding tools, bowls, some hides (fish decor only an aisle away too, if the weight isn't an issue), cork bark, branches - overall the basics, and I haven't seen signs of live food stocks. Hopefully this is of some use, I now await a total store makeover! XD"
"Very helpful and knowledgeable staff, they love you to bring your pets with you. They'll make a proper fuss, and give treats to them."
"Always giving the dog treats he loves it here! (French bulldog zeus)"
"Took my boxer down for a wash and clip her nails. All I can say how fantastic the girls looked after my dog. From the first contact to the last very caring and I can't believe how calm she was. Well done the girls at fox valley store"
"I don't go in here much because I don't have a pet, but I needed some duck food for my kids, so we could go and feed the duck at the park. I couldn't find it so I asked a lady cleaning the fish tanks. She was more than happy to help and I found what I was looking for. Thank you pets at home."
