"We've been in several times in the past. Some visits good, some not so good as its changed owners quite often. Our first visit ( Saturday evening in Match 2023) with the new team. Food was excellent - my partner and I had a main and desert. I also had a pint of hand pumped real ale. All were excellent and good value. Service, ambience, cleanliness all first class. I'd heartily recommend a visit."
"perfect location, we had 2 rooms booked and 1 dog in each room, so perfect for walking them by the canal. Both rooms were very clean, warm and comfortable. We ate at the pub Saturday night and the food, we all agreed was excellent. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly, they have obviously worked hard in the short space of time that they've been open, as everything was spot on! Thoroughly recommend it"
"My wife and I eat out a lot and decided to give it a try. Over the years it has been a bit iffy at times. Now it is beautifully turned out with a great ambiance. The staff showed exactly the right amount of friendliness and professionalism. The food was excellent and well served. Our only comment would be that for a just above average pub menu it was slightly overpriced. Very similar fare can be had locally at slightly less price. Overall a lovely evening with well presented food. We will revisit. Jean and Howard Cooper"
"First time we have been in a while. It has recently reopened with new management (Sept/Oct 2022). We went for a late Sunday lunch. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and helpful. I hope this management team can make it work here as the pub deserves some stability and consistent success."
