"Photos on booking site misleading, feels like a storage room rather than a guest room, not very clean, extension cords everywhere, random furniture that doesn't fit the room, wardrobes full of boxes, not able to use sofa and coffee table. However WiFi is good bed is comfortable. Fridge, kettle and microwave in the room. Plenty of secure parking, electronic gate entry. Shared bathroom and separate shared shower."
"We were a group of 5 who stayed here Saturday 16/10/21 after a day at Thorpe park. What can I say, such a lovely place, no frills whatsoever but did exactly what it said on the tin. There's two beautiful dogs who live on the premises extremely large and a little intimidating but don't let this fool you, they were both darlings and I loved them, we all loved them and they wanted lots of fuss which they got from me in spade loads. We met one of the female owner on the day of departure who was lovely and pretty friendly too, I didn't catch her name but she's a lovely lady. This accommodation is not at all expensive in fact it's practically free so take this in to account when booking. It's not the ritz but u get more than what u pay for, clean rooms and fresh bedding with a quiet comfy stay. My only moan and it's not a major one was the floors squeaked on every floor but as it's an old property I guess it's to be expected. We will definitely be staying here more often as it's perfect for those on a budget needing a warm bed. I would definitely recommend as a cheap low budget but fully functional stay over."
"Had a good stay, the host was very nice. We arrived earlier than expected and so the house wasn't fully ready e.g. cleaned but that's mostlh forgivable in my opinion. The rooms were nice and the beds were very comfy. We were dreading going after reading the reviews on our way there, but it is not as bad as it is made out to be. Yes there's a german shephard who is an absolute softie and didn't actually come near us so if you're scared of dogs this is still a great place to stay we never once saw or heard the other dog. The only things that bring this place down a bit is cleanliness, so the cups in our rooms weren't clean and the bathroom wasn't that good either, also that it is in fact the owners house you stay in and the bathrooms are shared needs to be made clearer. However, overall we had a good stay!"
"When we arrived it was very hard to find, called up to ask how to get in and women was rude on the phone. Arrived and she seemed nice enough but place was not what we expected. Construction work everywhere was told she had a fire a couple days prior. Got showed to the room and the shower was dirty, hair and dirt of the floor. Mould/grim in the corner. Could hear workers downstairs. Didn’t feel comfortable place to be and looked nothing like pictures. We choose to leave after being there 10 minutes. Said to the women it wasn’t what we expected and wasn’t for us so handed the key back. She didn’t care. She opened the gate before we could get out then had to wait and ring her to open it again to which she hung up on us. Wouldn’t recommend"
"Really nice accommodation and the rating is a reflection of the value for money as well as the cleanliness of the property. I had a very comfortable king bed, which provided a great night of sleep. Tea and coffee is supplied, otherwise pretty much no frills. Beware if you have a phobia of canines as there are a few dogs. But the pups are harmless, and once they realise you're a friendly, they wonder off."
