"So… my brother and I decided to visit Liverpool for a day for the Champion’s league game. When booking this hotel, I thought it looked great for the price and super near a subway system. When we arrived, it was the worst experience of our lives. From the moment we arrived, we smelled the mold in the room. We tried to open a window, but it was too cold to do so. We prayed so much perfume to hide the smell, but didn’t help much. My brother tried to change hotel rooms but they said they were booked completely. Our hotel room didn’t have a working heater either, so we were putting layers upon layers of clothes to only sleep for 2-3 hours. We also slept with masks on to help with the mold smell. This hotel is definitely not safe. Do not recommend no matter how cheap it is."
"I booked this hotel some weeks ago ahead of a special weekend with my son in Liverpool. We were there to watch a match and decided we would make a weekend of it. We thought this hotel looked quite nice and the photos make it look clean and well presented. This room cost £160 and as soon as we opened the bedroom door there was a smell of damp and is it any wonder, there had obviously been issues with the ceiling and there were damp patches there and down to the ground. It was quite simply awful and if the other rooms are like this, the hotel is grossly misrepresented. We refused to stay and the lady on reception said that as it was booked through you, I would have to reclaim the money from you rather than them. I have photos I can send you if you let me know where i can send them. We are looking for a full refund please. We tried to find an alternative hotel but they were booked out or too expensive, so we decided to drive 3.5 hours home and arrived back at 1.45am this morning ruining what was supposed to be a memorable weekend. The hotel refused to reimburse my money and in fact nobody from Head office even responded to my email. Says it all !! I am not one to complain but i felt it my duty to alert anyone who would even consider this hotel. Dont !! PS I had to put 1 star to be able to do the review, but it should of course be no star"
"Booked for my wife and daughter for a weekend away, we were expecting basic but this was unacceptable! 1. Beds were so uncomfortable she could hear the springs as well as have them stick in her, and the bedding was poor quality - despite commitments on website. 2. The shower was broken - there was as much water pouring out the back of the handset as there was coming out of the front of it. 3. The walls are incredibly thin. A party started in a neighbouring property at around 4.30am - could hear every word the people were saying as if they were in the same room. 4. Due to the noise keeping my wife awake, she wanted to put on the side light to read. However couldn't because there was no bulb. 5. Room in desperate need of redecorating. 6. Extra charge for tea, coffee etc in the room, and even for storing bags the next morning! Amongst what was the worst ever experience of a night in a hotel, Ebony was a shining star who helped as much as she could and was very pleasant. Having read other reviews that have quoted the Tune hotel as being basic but cheap, had we only paid a quarter of the £180 we paid for the night, I would still be disappointed! The no.1 requirement of a hotel is to provide a somewhere for a nights sleep - the Tune in Liverpool failed on this."
"£125 a night for scuffed and grubby windowless box. Hair on the sheets, glass toilet door that didn't even close. The receptionist did what she could and we were moved first to a clean room with a broken tv and broken lights, and then the next night as they were fully booked we had to move again to another room with broken lights. £2 for a cup of tea (no kettle in the room) uncomfortable beds, one pillow each. It would have been fine for the £30 a night some people seem to have paid but for £125 it's bleak. The staff are very nice though."
"So my wife booked this place and saw mixed reviews. I found this place OK but a few problems. First the good. Its in a great place, the staff where nice and the room was clean and plenty of space. Despite some noise in the night it was not to bad I also found my way around quite easy despite some people finding problems with it. The not so good where the lifts which where small and creaked a lot. Also first floor was quite gloomy and hard to see at times, the room door was a bit dodgy as well but worked despite quite a bit of movement. The bed however was unbelievably hard. I wild camp quite often and found that more comfortable then the bed."
