"Now has a 7 day mandatory wait for repeat prescriptions - and still a huge queue when you've waited. The obvious stock control issues that they have appear to be foisted onto the public and its the publics problem... If you can plan ahead fine but for people with variable conditions that suddenly need a repeat early a 7 days wait means they will run out. For everyday common drug items, I wouldnt expect to wait 7 hours for them, let alone 7 days. No other pharmacy has such a policy - if I left them 7 days at my previous pharmacy I'd have a call on the door from the pharmacist checking I'd not unexpectedly died!"
"Usually have what I need, but the wait time is awful and no one explains to you why you’re waiting or what’s going on. Just all hiding behind the counter looking at the long line of customers and eventually someone will come out to help. Then disappears it’s annoying"
"As long as you are prepared to be told come back another day then still have to wait 30-40 mins on every single visit its fine. Looks like the entire process is just poorly organised hence the shambolic customer experience."
"This is the absolute worst pharmacy I have ever known. They seem to have a lot of staff & yet you are ignored at the counter. Prescriptions are rarely ready anyway. I understand that they need to take care when preparing them but the wait time is unacceptable. Most come through from the doctors electronically & yet we have to wait 2/3 days to pick them up. If they caught up, they could do each days to be ready by 3. They obviously don't prepare Mondays until Wednesday, why? It's supposed to be a customer centred service, it certainly is not. I have a problem standing for any length of time due to a hip problem. I cannot sit on their chairs as then I am not in the queue, I just have to stand there in pain till one of them decides to serve me. My 2nd bugbear is that they close for lunch, again why? None of the other shops in Royston close, what age are they living in? There are enough staff to take 2 staggered breaks to ensure a continued service. You might just want to hand a prescription in, pick one up that is ready or buy something off the shelf. Weldrakes Chemists in other areas don't close, why should this one close, it's a needed service. Again, not customer centred, the whole system is based on what is easiest for them. If it makes life difficult for the customer - tough!! I must add that that I don't think it's the fault of the staff, I think that this is how they have been told to work. Whoever is in charge needs to listen to his/her customers & staff & give their service a complete shake-up in favour of the customer. Particularly elderly or infirm people who can't stand around or keep coming back to pick something up that isn't ready. Don't blame Covid, it's always been like this, your system doesn't work. Incidentally my son who uses another chemist near here, does Zoom doctors calls. On the last one he was told what was needed for my grandson & that it was ready to pick up in 15 minutes. Guess what? It was there, ready & waiting. Whoever you are, Mr/Mrs boss, you're behind the times, promoting an ineffective, inefficient service, you need to retrain or retire. Well done to the staff for putting up with this circus."
