About the Business
Cirencester Open Air Swimming Pool is a delightful oasis nestled in the heart of the picturesque town of Cirencester, UK. Established in the 1860s, it is one of the oldest outdoor swimming spots in the country and remains a beloved destination for locals and visitors alike.
The pool is set in Riverside Walk, which is a tranquil stretch of greenery flanked by the Cecily Hill and The Mead. The setting provides an idyllic backdrop for a refreshing swim or a lazy sunbath, as the surroundings are filled with the chirping of birds and the rippling sound of water. The pool is surrounded by lush green lawns and is shaded in parts by tall trees, which provide ample space for sunbathing, picnicking, or enjoying a good book.
The pool itself is a 28-meter-long rectangle, which is heated to a comfortable temperature of 24 degrees Celsius. It is deep enough to allow for diving and cannonballs and is surrounded by wooden decking and narrow lanes. There is also a smaller toddler pool, which is shallower and safer for younger children to splash around.

"Enjoyed a swim during the hot weather. Very popular pool. Also childrens pool. The adult pool has a water slide. Temperature was warm. Has some umbrellas with tables and a long bench on one side for seating. We managed to stay in the shade most of the time. Small kiosk serving drinks, snacks and beans on toast or pasta. Great little place to spend few hours, run by volunteers."
"Our first Lido for years, and we was not disappointed. Cost £15 50 for 2 adults 1 child, which is good value. The pool was clean and water clear. Not very busy which was a bonus. This is a little gem of a place, and if around again will definitely be using it again. Food and drink are basic but still nice, especially the ice cream . See you soon hopefully"
"Amazing historic pool in a beautiful location and perfectly clean. Drinks and tuck shop on hand and super friendly staff."
"Lovely way to cool off on a hot summers day. Driven passed the sign for years, very glad we finally got round to going in. Will be back."
"What a gem. If I lived in Cirencester I'd be here every day! Clean water, fresh air and the day I visited the sun was shinning. After a refreshing swim theres drinks and cake on sale. Plenty of out door seating, clean changing rooms and lockers."
