"After being turned away by to other pubs we was welcomed in for the landlord we asked if he was still serving food he said yes until 6pm we ordered 2 Sunday roast they came out and we was not disappointed ooooh my god the mashed potatoes was out of this world now we are traveling back south to home next time we are up this was I will be visiting here again I recommend people to try this hotel for the food the landlord was very pleasant and professional"
"Car park to the rear. Both locals and staff warm and friendly. Large menu. We had the large Yorkshire pudding with mash, vegetables and gravy, the pepper mushrooms with Stilton and a side of chips. Everything was well cooked, hot and very tasty. Reasonably priced. Dog friendly. Great place to stop off at for a meal."
"Stopped into the George Hotel for lunch. Staff were wonderful, very welcoming with a great sense of humour. Had nice beer and the most fantastic fish and chips. Fabulous portions, crispy batter, perfect chips and lovely mushy peas! Will eat here again at any time. Highly recommended!"
"Called in for lunch after a bad experience at the Bulls Head. The welcome couldn't have been more different, the two ladies were like a double act, more importantly the food was excellent. We were all fixated on fish and chips and they didn't disappoint. Brilliant!"
