"This place exceeded our expectations. Stayed march 2023. This was our first trip to Bakewell and absolutely loved it. The hotel is centrally located to everything. The room we had was the Hardwick (think that's right). When booking I requested a walk in shower and we got a large walk in shower. Bathroom is large modern and clean with complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There was a hair dryer. A iron and ironing board. A fridge with a large bottle of water. A wide range of teas and coffes and a winner for me, a non coffee or tea drinker, was the Hot chocolate. Yay!!! That always gives a place extra points in my book and biscuits to enjoy with it. Mmmm! There is a safe available in the room should you need one. Extra pillows in the wardrobe. The bed was huge. So huge the quilt cover didn't quite make it to the sides but this wasn't a problem. We were still nice and warm. The hotel is centrally located to everything. It was fantastic. Yet the room was so quiet and peaceful. The area has pretty much everything you want. Lots of places to eat out. Pubs. Shops. Walks. River. The breakfast is pre ordered which I don't mind at all. I had pastry's to start which were lovely and warm and tasty. Then I had a full English breakfast which was fresh and good quality produce. The eggs were divine. My partner had the natural yoghurt and fruit. It was a massive portion and looked so fresh. The receptionist was helpful and polite as were the breakfast staff . Our only negative is that we only booked for 1 night in Bakewell and 1 night in Buxton. We would much rather have stayed 2 nights in Bakewell and just visited Buxton as it's only a 20 minute drive away but we live and learn. We will without question be returning to the H Boutique Hotel. Thank you for a lovely stay. Caroline."
"Spacious comfy clean room. Lovely big bed, 2 easy chairs. Quiet pedestrian street. Car park opposite. Good breakfast. Great location for restaurants and pubs."
"OMG what a fantastic place, perfectly located, parking was easy. Rooms were huge, in really maintained, clean and very nicely presented. Breakfast was immense. For a party of nine, we all ate varying cooked breakfast together. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Sorry I didn't get your name but the guy helping out, you really did go the extra mile to make our weekend, thank you"
"Lovely rooms and very clean. Rooms close to the lifts can be noisy, guests seem not to moderate their voices late at night. Breakfast fine but expensive. Coffee good but loud banging and crashes from the bar shred what atmosphere there is. Overall good value but don't expect a quiet stay."
"Visited here with my family before Chatsworths bonfire night and we were thoroughly underwhelmed. The food is expensive suggesting restaurant quality, however there is no cutlery on the tables. We had to ask for them after our dinner had been served, the condiments in sachets which I would expect from a cafe and the food itself was completely underwhelming. £16.50 for a burger that tasted like a £5 cafe burger. We ordered 2 glasses of wine which never came so we had to walk the bar to ask for them. When the bill came they were £9.50 a glass which is the price of a large glass of wine which we didn't ask for. On the whole bitterly disappointed at spending £100 on a meal we could have got for £30 from a cafe elsewhere. We won't be returning."
