"Bought some wood, they offer a cut down service at most b&q store, so I asked if they could cut down my wood for me, was informed that unless I'm a trade customer they don't offer to normal customers anymore. Which I found odd because there other local store to me, at castleford does serve normal and trades at there cut down service point."
"Went in for tiles that were showing in stock online. To be told by a staff member that because they were on top rack in the warehouse. I couldn’t have them as it would mean closing half the shop and take around 30 staff members to get the tiles I wanted."
"Bought four light fitting and two pendant drops. The two girls who help were brilliant, helpful, cheerful and considerate, had a great laugh and a smile with them both. “I’ll be back”"
"I needed assistance with LED bulbs so asked at information desk for assistance. Disappointing instead of calling for a member of staff of which I could see several were free on the shop floor the lady on the information just pointed me in general direction of were they might be a member of staff available ie if I go looking for one on shop floor. Not great start. Maybe they don't have a tannoy system? Luckily I did find a nice man who was polite and spent time to ensure I got the correct bulbs for my spot lights. The cost was about what I expected that said I had to buy one individual one as the pack size was only 3 so worked out not as cost effective. The layout of the store is easy to navigate but individual items are not always immediately found. I also needed a rubber mallet and screwdriver set. The total cost of my bill was £46 I perhaps could have bought cheaper direct from amazon or ebay but I needed the items immediately. I have bought hanging basket too in the summer which was average price but I prefer a local small buisness garden centre were the owner gave me more personnel care and knowledge of the plants. Overall B&Q is good for convenience and to see things in person ie light fittings or wall paper , paint etc Cost wise certain items are worth buying elsewhere like larger appliances, tools garden equipment etc as Amazon, ebay etc can buy in bulk and keep prices low. Overall I managed to get what I needed. It cost more than expected. The service initially wasn't great but eventually I got the service I expected Luckily."
"It's a huge DIY store that caters to the building trade too , they also have a lovely garden centre, along with a sizeable kitchen and bathroom display which you can fit yourself or have them professionally fitted, there seems everything from lawnmowers to painting and decorating and just About anything related to DIY or home improvement."
