"Our first visit on the off chance of having food. We did and very good as well. They have the usual main meals, and their speciality is Pie's. With a choice of toppings - pastry, mashed potatoes or cobbler (dumplings). Very reasonably priced all round. We had drinks as well. The portions are not for the faint-hearted, definitely Yorkshire portions! Don't bother with a starter but have a pudding if you can fit one in. Well worth a visit. Good atmosphere and very helpful staff."
"What a pie menu! We had Steak & Ale, Ham and Mustard and Chicken Ham and Leek, all amazing, worth every penny for the cobblers alone. Plus a great low-alc beer selection (which is a rare treat anywhere). Lovely staff, great service, top food pub, will be back!"
"Absolutely spot on Sunday Lunch Which includes a small scrumtious pudding. We had booked but it was so busy we had to wait about an extra 20 mins for our table. (Well worth the wait). Good home cooked food in a family friendly environment, perfect. The young girls were rushed off their feet but nothing was too much trouble. We'll worth a visit."
"Lovely carvery. Plenty of food for four adults, in fact we ended up taking a trayful of meat home as there was that much: 2 beef, 2 pork and a chicken bread each! Plus veg, potatoes and Yorkshire pudding."
