"We have recently moved to Horbury and are checking out the local pubs and restaurants. The Quarry Big car park Good presentation and looks nice inside Outside looked ok Staff are friendly and helpful Beer was great The food was fantastic and very well portioned This was a 5 all the way until the bill arrived We questioned the bill as there were supplements on which we neither had as they had an exclusive deal. It just so happens another customer also was questioned their bill with the same reply from the staff. They corrected the bills with no apologies just saying it must be the tills. Finally opening hours are various so best to ring before going. I don't want to give lower than a 4 as the overall experience was really great and I would go again"
"Best Sunday lunch I have had in a while. Very friendly and pleasant ambiance. Want to go back and try the A la carte menu"
"Location On the main road into Horbury, not an area I know particularly well but easy enough to find with a satnav Interior Very clean and neat. The whole place felt quite rustic yet modern. Hard to explain but I was a fan! Service We had several people serve us during our visit, each presented well and were polite and attentive. The black shirts (assuming management) were very keen on ensuring a perfect experience right down to apologising that the wine menu hadn't been removed with the food menus after we had ordered (which we hadn't even noticed). The only down point was that the food did take a little longer than we expected but it was well worth it when it did arrive so not really bothered in the end. Food/drink Let's walk through the food dish by dish Starters Fish cake - I didn't eat this but it looked great and the feedback was it had good flavour and was polished off quickly so I reckon it was a winner! Prawn cocktail - I felt like taking myself back to the 60s bit actually this was a great example of when outdated food is brought right into the 21st century and delivered well. Great flavour and fantastic presentation Mains Roasts - we had gammon on one and turkey with pigs in blankets on another. Then the rest was the same on both. A great selection of veg and a massive Yorkshire pud. For me the veg was a little too al dente. But that just personal preference, on the whole it was grand. Genuinely the best pigs in blankets I have every had and the turkey was so juicy and tender, couldn't possibly say it was the standard dry Christmas day bird. Price Including drinks and tips we paid £24 each which isn't the cheapest roast I have ever had but it didn't break the bank and I really enjoyed it. Would reccomend a visit and will be back myself soon. Overall A class Sunday roast with great service in a lovely venue and a sensible price."
