"Obviously a change of hands and I think the new owners game needs upping! Ordered two large breakfasts and two teas... Before hubby got back to our table, the couple after us had ordered and had their drinks and cutlery brought to their table... Our teas sat on the side by the door for 10 minutes until one of the staff happened to ask if they were ours!!! The tea was basically milky water at best. When the breakfast arrived, she had to go back for the cutlery, no serviettes brought, yet there was a huge pile above the cutlery tray, behind the counter! I asked for another tea, no teaspoon and more milky water! The bacon wasn't cooked enough, nor were the fried eggs, one of which on my husbands plate was broken and the yolk was all over the plate... I'm sorry if I sound very negative, but these are basic things when running a cafe! It's not hard to fry food correctly! Nor should it be to be organised enough to have the cutlery, serviettes delivered with the tea, to the table. There were 5 people behind the counter, yet nobody was clearing tables til one lady came out of the back to do it! It's a shame, the last owner was spot on with it all..."
"I decided to take a Sunday morning ride out to this cafe, I've heard good things about it and hadn't been before. A nice hour ride on my motorcycle and I arrived to a warm welcome from the staff. Great menu offering a good choice. I opted for the All day breakfast with a tea. It was all freshly prepared and didn't take very long considering there were plenty of customers. I will definitely be back and would recommend."
"Shockingly bad service. We waited half an hour and no sign of our food, while other people who came in after us (regulars maybe) got their food much quicker. The large queue congregated down the middle of the room which didn't make for a great atmosphere. And lots of men, who looked like customers, were helping out in the cooking area which I didn't feel was appropriate. The food looked nice, on other people's plates, but after 30 minutes and no indication of when our order was coming we gave up. To be fair we were refunded without any argument."
"Best bike cafe in York friendly staff nice breakfasts all round top cafe to come to worth a visit. Definitely the best cafe round the York area the food is lovely the breakfast is amazing if your hungry and brave enough try and tackle the full Monty takes some eating as there huge but will fill you up ideal if you have a long drive or ride you'll stay full right up to dinnertime. Friday nights are there ever growing motorbike night a very friendly bike family and the atmosphere is so welcoming a place you can come to on your own and leave making lots of new friends and is ila wonderful site to see the car park full to the brim of different bikes from 50cc upwards. The owners need a mention as they are a lovely couple making sure your visit is a special one there so friendly the staff always have big smiles and so friendly this place I highly recommend you won't find another cafe in the York area any better.."
"My first visit despite being a biker and living in York! Had the standard breakfast and really enjoyed it, superb sausages! Plenty of outside seating and room for plenty of bikes too. Must go down on Friday evening for bike night"
