"Haven’t been to SV since pre-COVID and was pleased to see it’s still going strong. Called in for breakfast late morning and enjoyed a Yorkshire Breakfast, my wife had the famous breakfast wrap. As I didn’t want the black pudding, I got an extra sausage instead! Top quality produce used, friendly staff, at a great price. Will be back for lunch, or afternoon tea next time; the tapas evenings sound interesting too."
"Called in with friends after a long walk. What a great find! The food was delicious. I had the beef sandwich with roast potatoes. Itwas the best beef sandwich I've ever had. Great friendly service and atmosphere. Will definitely return."
"Can't really understand the fuss for this place. The building is nice but it is very smelly. Ventilation is poor, deep fat fryer smell gets in your clothes. Cafe food is good, but the deli selection is bottom shelf supermarket- echo falls wine, carling and other equally terrible foodstuffs."
"We had a wonderful time in Samuel Valentines. A welcome stop on our walk from St Aidens RSPB and back. The staff were super friendly even though they were very busy. They said food might be a long wait but we were eating within 25 minutes and it was beautiful. The best quiche I've ever had. It was goat's cheese and fig. We will definitely be going again."
"Needs more ventilation, come out smelling like a greasy cafe which is a shame because the food and service is great. Been coming here for a while but the kitchen fog and smell left on your clothes let’s it down. Food is always great though, just need to sort the kitchen smells out"
