We are proud to share that Charles Kovess, our esteemed President, has recently competed in the renowned Lorne Pier to Pub Swim for the 26th time. This event is recognized as the best ocean water swimming race in the world. Charles was the President of the Lorne Surf Life Saving Club when the Pier to Pub Swim was first inaugurated in 1981. In 2020, we will celebrate the 40th anniversary race! Charles is a Double Shark Bait Club member, an honor awarded to those who have swum in this event 20 or more times. He shares this distinction with Hon Ted Baillieu, the former Premier of Victoria.
