We are proud to share that Charles Kovess, our esteemed President, has recently competed in the renowned Lorne Pier to Pub Swim for the 26th time. This event is recognized as the best ocean water swimming race in the world. Charles was the President of the Lorne Surf Life Saving Club when the Pier to Pub Swim was first inaugurated in 1981. In 2020, we will celebrate the 40th anniversary race! Charles is a Double Shark Bait Club member, an honor awarded to those who have swum in this event 20 or more times. He shares this distinction with Hon Ted Baillieu, the former Premier of Victoria.

In addition to his involvement in the swimming community, Charles Kovess is also a trustee of the Global Energy Network Institute (GENI). GENI aims to integrate electrical energy grids worldwide into a single interconnected grid, utilizing renewable resources. This initiative promotes a sustainable and improved quality of life for all, without causing harm to our planet. Charles is currently collaborating with the GENI team to present "WeROne World", an innovative live action role play simulation in Melbourne on November 2nd. This event seeks to shift perspectives and increase global awareness among its participants. Inspired by the work of Buckminster Fuller, the "Einstein of the 21st Century", WeROne World is a constructed game that educates participants on economics, culture, and society, fostering skills necessary for success in the 21st century. Furthermore, Charles Kovess will be speaking at the Annual General Meeting of the Healesville/Phillip Island Nature Link on September 30th. He will be discussing the potential of industrial hemp as a disruptor in agribusiness, health, sustainability, construction, and investment markets.
