About the Business
Coast Hand Therapy Papamoa, located at 130 Parton Road in Papamoa, New Zealand, is a specialized establishment that offers assessment and treatment for injuries and conditions of the hand, wrist, and elbow. Our dedicated team of physiotherapists is passionate about helping our patients get back to doing the things they love and need to do. We understand the frustration, limitations, and stress that can come with an injury, which is why we provide individualized services to meet the specific needs of each patient.
Whether you have a fracture, sprain, strain, or any other injury or problem between your fingertip and elbow, Coast Hand Therapy is the right place for you. Our services include assessment and treatment of a wide range of injuries, and we cater to people of all ages. Our hand therapists are highly trained physiotherapists and occupational therapists who have undergone extensive post-graduate training to specialize in the assessment and treatment of the hand and upper limb.
At Coast Hand Therapy, we accept ACC claims, and if you haven't lodged a claim yet, you can still make an appointment with us. We are able to assist you with lodging a claim during your initial assessment. We may ask some questions over the phone before your appointment to determine if it is appropriate to lodge a claim with ACC. If you have any questions, feel free to call us and discuss.
When you come for your appointment, please bring any relevant paperwork you may have, such as a referral. However, if you forget, don't worry, as we will ensure we gather all the necessary information to provide you with the right treatment. If you have had X-rays or imaging done at one of the private providers in Tauranga, we can access them online, so there's no need to bring them in.
If your injury is covered by ACC, the cost of any splints you might need will be covered. There may be some small additional charges for strapping or exercise equipment, which can be discussed with your therapist at the time of your appointment. If you have health insurance, you may be able to be reimbursed by your insurance company for your appointment and/or splint costs. If you are paying for splints privately, pricing options will be discussed with you during your appointment.
Your first appointment at Coast Hand Therapy will be approximately 45 minutes long, and follow-up appointments are no longer than 30 minutes. We have different fees for ACC and private appointments, which can be found in our appointments fees section. We accept cash, credit card, and EFTPOS as forms of payment. Please note that no accounts are held, and payment is due at the time of your appointment.
In addition to our specialized services, we also have a specialist on-site gym facility to aid in strength and recovery. Our lead physiotherapist, Nicola, graduated in 2000 and has extensive experience in various areas of physiotherapy. She is particularly passionate about hand therapy and strives to provide excellent service to ensure her patients achieve the best outcomes from treatment. Nicola understands the importance of knowing your work demands and what you enjoy doing in your spare time, and this information will be an integral part of your hand therapy.
Nicola herself enjoys training at the gym, trail running, mountain biking, kite surfing, and stand-up paddleboarding when she's not busy with her two active boys. You can find us in the Next Step Gym building on 14B Hocking Street in Mount Maunganui and in the Re-energise Physio building on 130 Parton Road in Papamoa.
