We believe that the environment is a child's third teacher, and we strive to provide a nature-rich environment with vast indoor and outdoor spaces. Our cozy Kōwhai Room and adventurous Redwood Room have their own large outdoor spaces filled with real grass and beautiful trees. This natural environment allows tamariki (children) to connect with Papatūānuku (the natural world) and gives them the freedom to explore and have fun.

In our Kōwhai Room, we focus on building loving and trusting relationships between pēpi (babies), kaiako (teachers), and whānau (family). Our kaiako structure the day according to individual pēpi needs and work closely with whānau to understand their cues and develop a routine that supports their natural rhythms. We utilize sensory play, outdoor exploration, music, and movement to create a fun and interactive atmosphere while maintaining a focus on the love, care, and affection that pēpi need to thrive.

Our Redwood Room provides a rich learning environment for the tuākana (older children) of our center. We ensure they have the opportunity to develop confidence, independence, and self-management, aligning with Te Whāriki (Early Childhood Curriculum) and the pathways to kura (school). Tamariki are encouraged to care for others, the environment, and their own property, fostering a growing sense of responsibility for themselves and the world around them. Our curriculum is emergent and discovery-based, with kaiako observing and conversing with tamariki to develop projects based on their interests.

At Busy Bees Napier Road, we pride ourselves on offering transportation support to both new and existing whānau who require assistance getting to and from the center. Our own Busy Bees Napier Road centre van also allows us to organize exciting excursions in our local community, enhancing tamariki's knowledge about people, places, things, and events.

Our local curriculum incorporates learning dispositions, the principles and goals of Te Whāriki, and competencies derived from Tataiako. Our innovative learning environments are abundantly resourced with stimulating educational materials that complement the delivery of our local curriculum and educational program. Our passionate teachers encourage children's creativity, support their emerging social interactions, and celebrate their individual successes.

Our talented group of kaiako has been carefully selected based on their experience and passion within the Early Learning field, their professional knowledge of teaching and nurturing tamariki, as well as their philosophy of education and knowledge of child development. They build meaningful, respectful relationships with tamariki and their whānau, working in partnership regarding all aspects of tamariki learning, interests, goals, and holistic development.

We understand that the first five years of a child's life are incredibly significant and influential. That is why we strive to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive. Our teachers are warm, friendly, and make time to chat with parents and children during pick-up and drop-off. They understand the concerns and values of parents and share the same goals and aspirations for each child.
