"I've owned firearms for a number of years but over the past few years I've lost a bit of interest of using them. I subscribe to weekly Gun City news letters and recently a couple of the .22 sports rifles were on offer so I popped down to my Dunedin Branch to take a look and see what they'd offer for my older 2 x rifles as trade in's. I had already phoned Gun City prior and spoke with Matt who I now know is the assistant Manger. Matt looked over my trade in's and was upfront about how the new legislation has caused the 2nd hand market to crash, that's fine I had a rough idea of how much I wanted for the trade and he even gave me advice on how to sell privately to try and get the most for my guns. In the mean time he showed me the two rifles I was interested in a 2 German Sport Guns GSG-16 MP5 Replica and the 22 Hammerli TAC R1. I really wanted the MP5 replica as it looks stunning but after spending some time holding the weapon, realized it wasn't for me. Matt was brilliant, I probably spent about 30 minutes between both rifles, holding, dry firing...etc. I didn't feel in any rush and Matt even suggested a few alternatives to consider. To cut a long story short Matt gave me a really good trade in on my two rifles (more than what I was expecting). Thanks. I bought the 22 Hammerli TAC R1 with Match Trigger: Ranger 1-8x24i & Ghost Silencer Package. Absolutely awesome package and very impressed with the service. Will be back soon to buy more ammo and maybe something else, much appreciated that you've reinvigorated my passion for sports guns."
"Walked in and asked about Lever actions. Can I just come around the counter for a quick look? - No you can’t, we don’t allow anyone there, so I walked out again."
"Great service, very helpful. Helped me make a better decision around buying a bore-sighter. Swapped out a rail, when I was supplied the wrong one by another supplier. Impressed."
"I found the staff to be quite knowledgeable and helpful and in particular Jason and Matt, who pointed me in the right direction to get started on my new hobby of long distance plinking. Very happy with my purchases and the customer service."
"Spent a fortune on a brand new Sako from this store, fired it at a target at 100yds and it put 5 shots through the same hole. Asked the store to thread the rifle for me and it came back with a wonky thread that looks like it's been cut with a hand die... This caused bullets to clip my brand new DPT suppressor on the way through. The managers solution to this issue was to bore a larger hole through my suppressor and I received it back in an unsafe condition full of swarf, and I still had a wonky thread on my brand new Sako! Manager is very rude, obnoxious and unhelpful and made out like all of this was my fault and was most upset when I asked for a refund and replacement for my brand new suppressor. So if you want miserable customer service and over inflated prices, this is the place to shop!"
