"a group off hoodlums jumped me with pine cones i had to go to the ER never going again P.S those hoodlums are actual birds watch out"
"You would think you're in the middle of nowhere. Great walk for kids with some history along the way. We've been doing this walk since we were young chaps also."
"Enjoy the easy 40 minute walk along a well formed track past giant Tawa, Rimu, Miro, Koekoe and Puketea trees (among many others of course). Or for a quick stroll, do the short 10 minute loop."
"Beautiful spot with plenty of shade over a small stream, and surprisingly few people there, given the time of year. Great for little kids. Not really a swimming hole as such though, more a paddling area for preschool and primary school age kids, and enjoyable for anyone else too. Next time we go we'll try to remember some insect repellent as there were a few sandflies around where we set up our picnic mat. And my wife would bring a book as it's a perfect spot to sit and read while the kids play in the steam. It also has a bush walk across the road with at least two options: a short loop that is about 18 minutes long according to the sign near half way, and a long loop that I think is something like an hour long. We did the short loop. There were no steps so it should be fine for a pram. Lots of middle aged to mature looking native trees. A really pleasant stroll with the sun shining through giving it an awesome feel. There are some flush toilets at the start of the walk. There was a tap to wash hands with but no soap or dryer so if you're fussy about such things you may want to bring some sanitizer or something. I think this will become a new regular destination for us. Just a really pleasant relaxing place to spend an afternoon."
"Beautiful place to go for a nice bush walk. Also good for the family dog aswell. Highly reommended"
