Welcome to Gwen Rogers Mount Maunganui Kindergarten! Located in the heart of the Mount Maunganui education sector, adjacent to Omanu Primary School, our kindergarten has been serving the community for over 45 years.

At Gwen Rogers Kindergarten, we believe in the importance of building strong collaborative relationships with both children and families. We understand that these relationships are fundamental to learning and create a sense of whanaungatanga (belonging). Our goal is to provide a welcoming atmosphere that is positive, respectful, inclusive, emotionally nurturing, and most importantly, fun!

We believe that children learn best through direct experiences that are initiated by the child within their play. Our approach incorporates challenges and cooperative ventures, allowing children to learn at their own pace in a holistic way. To facilitate this, we provide a rich and stimulating environment that encourages open-ended exploration.

One of our core values is teaching children about the environment and fostering a generation of individuals who instinctively think and act sustainably. In recognition of our efforts, we were honored to receive the Enviro Schools Green Gold award in collaboration with Omanu School in 2014.

Our kindergarten boasts a beautiful large outdoor natural space where children can freely explore and play. We take pride in being an Enviroschool and winner of the Enviro Schools Green Gold Award. Our teaching team is not only 100% qualified and registered, but also committed to creating a fun and engaging learning environment.

We place a strong emphasis on building relationships and developing a sense of belonging among our students. We value the connections we have with all families and whanau, and strive to maintain close links with our community and schools.
